Does armor affect deathblows?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:10 pm

I've been noticing that I get more deathblows with different armors. I just recently made daedric armor and I always use the matching sword with armor. But I've been getting a hell of a lot of death blows. About one in every three enemies to be precise and sometimes its back to back. Then I switched armors and it didn't happen as often. Has anyone else had this happen?

Death blows only come when your health (or the enemy's) will be depleted by the strike normally. Then the game throws in that animation.

So, I have to ask, who is getting the Death Blows, you or the enemies when you change armor? If it is you, then you may not have the Skills or Perks for Heavy Armor. If it is the enemy, then you are dealing out more damage with your daedric weapon.

I'm the one getting the death blows and I have all perks for heavy armor save for the lvl 100 perk and all perks for one handed and blade associated version of this skill tree. But daedric. And ebony armor are the only ones I get massive amounts of death blows. Daedric excessively more. All other armors I get about one maybe two death blows for every twenty kills.

To eliminate the variable of the dungeon (as some are scaled much higher than others) have you tested this at the same dungeon with the different armors? I have gone into some dungeons and have my butt turned into Butt Tartar and handed back to me on a Limeware Platter.

Create a save before you enter, try one armor, reload, try another armor.

I've tried multiple variables and in all cases daedric armor and ebony cause more death blows but mostly only with swords

One in every five or so is a decapitation. Its actually pretty well balanced how .I get all my deathblows. When tried on falmer though most of them are strike the leg and then come back across torso.

I don't think you get the animation when your fighting more than one mob. Only on the last one of a group does it happen. I could be wrong though as I noticed that a while ago and could just be one of those things that only I get. :P

Yea I will get death blows in groups. I found out why some of them are instant death blows. I'm able to kill almost all base level enemies in just one hit which is why they get death blows but it still doesn't account for all the other ones. Most enemies I fight are at or near max level. Also I just recently heard something about a death blow where you kill two guys at once but haven't seen it happen. Is this capable?
