Breezehome or other?

My favorite home in Oblivion was always the little shack on the Waterfront. I wish there was a play home that small in Skyrim. Being an adventurer and all, a small cozy shack with lots of storage is the best place for me.

The same here. I think, the first home offered in a game will always be my personal favourite. That reminds me to get a bucket to put next to my bed. In Oblivion, I filled it to the rim with pearls, jewels, gold and silver.
I'd like to dismiss Lydia, though. She eating... and eating... and eating all day long. She eyes me down, when I go to bed and is sitting (and eating), when I get up.

Has anyone ever posted screenies of the interiors? It would be awesome for us aspiring home owners.

Honeyside has one great advantage, a door to outside the city walls. One less loading screen.

I prefer Honeyside. :)

Breezehome is also very cozy and practical though.

Being completely honest, I have never bought another home outside of Breezehome. Since you can no longer decorate a house to your choosing, the house is simply become a place to store gear and I have never needed another place. If it was possible to decorate a home and not have everything strewn about randomly when you return, I might consider moving elsewhere.

Where is another home thats in a nice providence town, smack dab in the middle of the map with close shops, nice jarls, a nice community, close Forgers, etc.

I never said it wasn't the best of the options. I just said it wasn't perfect.

For practical purposes, Honeyside is the best. You can enchant, make potions, tan leather; there's a blacksmith and 4 vendors just seconds away. And if you're in the Thieves Guild there's 5 vendors. And of those 5 vendors you can sell everything to all but one of them.

In terms of looks, my favorite is Markarth. By far. Then Proudspire, then Breezehome. Windhelm is a dump and there's still blood and a butchered body that won't go away inside of it.

Proudspire Manor is my favorite. It helps that I was able to use the "Buy House then quickly put the gold into a cubboard" trick to get it for free. (Slow Time Shout makes it easier)

While I thought about the Markarth and Riften houses, there's an RP problem I have. I REALLY don't like the idea of my wife being at home all day and night, while I'm out killing dragons, with a male Housecarl. Yes, its a video game and all. But it just bothers me. I don't mind a female Housecarl, I'm ok with my wife getting "lonely" with Lydia or the Swordmaided. Plus its nice that its so close to the Blue Palace for fast traveling.

Proudspire is the largest and nicest house with a female housecarl, so its the winner for me.
Riften has a female housecarl. And at worse, you can send it to the blades and he'll never bother you again in your house.q
