when you think you've hear it all...

He looked at the "official gameplay trailer" and thought he knew what the game was like hahaha

No offence, but your friend is an idiot... No one should ever believe official gameplay video.

Yes heaven forbid we hold official releases from the designers themselves to be indicative of their product. No offense, but you're a [censored]

Reminds me of Beavis and Butthead looking at a book and saying "words, words, words". Skyrim is boring to some people. It's just not action oriented enough for the typical CoD twitch gamer types.

skyrim is plenty action oriented. I'd say 80% of this game is combat oriented. The problem is that the combat is, by comparison to CoD type games, rather shallow and mindless.

After spending some time trying to understand the "medieval CoD" description, I can only conclude your friend has never seen or heard any content from and Elder Scrolls game.

Nor had I until a friend of mine told me about Skyrim a few days after 11-11-11. I'm guessing this makes me a moron as well, then?

Personally, I'd reload an earlier save and delete him. That sort of follower svcks...and he'd probably steal your sweetroll.

ok, but I'm trying to imagine my friend going idk google? youtube? and typing "skyrim" or "skyrim gamepay", I tried but nothing looked remotely CoD, any ideas?
Ok, from all the things you said like he only plays Call of Duty and Battlefield games. He probably called it "Call of Duty Midevil" because it's first person game in a Dungeon and Dragons type world, and since it's in first person Call of Duty has to be brought up. All he watched was a normal gameplay video and there is a lot of dialogue in the game. Also is he nerdy or is he a bro that plays Call of Duty, but thinks it's cool to play it because it has guns and burly men in it? I don't know why you care so much about the video he saw, because it wasn't the video it was the game.

have you ever considered that there isn't a video that makes skyrim look like a medieval CoD and your friend is just a moron?

we all have different tastes some like linear games and thats o.k. after playing lots of titles since the early atari days most games seem very unoriginal. Bethesda have changed this by giving you complete freedom and I really cant think of many games that I would spend my time playing that excite me more.

For your average Call of Duty player "Hello" is a lot of dialog.
