Is your Warrior a little bit Sneaky

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 1:18 pm

Generally... No. My full on gung ho Nord warrior still has 15 sneak. But I do have a light armor/1handed/ranged/sneak warrior as well, and a full on assassin/sneakthief character. The most important thing for my enjoyment is that my characters have some form of weakness; being able to do everything is boring. So my mages don't wear armor or use weapons, my sneaky types don't use two-handers, shields or heavy armor and my warriors don't sneak or use magic. If I make a warrior who does use magic then I limit it to one school and build around that: Restoration generally becomes a Paladin/cleric type and is limited to one-handers, occasionally no using shields either. Illusion is interesting, and needs to be balanced by one-handers and light armor. I'm kinda interested in the possibility of an alteration warrior; one who wears only clothes and who uses alteration instead of armor.

Why wouldn't you, unless you want to declare a war and give them a fair chance to surrender and avoid conflict.

I love a good bit of hack and slash, charge in and give them hell but as most the others have sort of said "a stupid warrior is a dead warrior' Playing a warrior without using some of the 'non warrior' skills is just taking the role playing to its extreme. This game (and most) is all about survival, so as I have often said elsewhere I play as I believe a real adventurer/warrior/survivalist would I play to survive, and that for sure includes a good bit of sneaking.

I think people are brainwashed by D&D into thinking that warriors and thieves are separate, only thieves can stealth and warriors can't.

that isn't why I don't like sneaking on a warrior. it's just a bit too plodding for my tastes. i also don't like leveling past 50 either. 40 even. you don't want to spread yourself too thin. sneaking is fun in some games though, when there's high risk to doing otherwise (like umm.. metal gear or something).

Nothing wrong with sneaking. Even Conan would sneak from time to time.

However, sometimes you can have the most fun by breaking the rules. I say save your game and give it a shot.

From time to time is kinda wrong
Conan sneaked most of the times, he only went chuchonga crazy if he got caught, cornered or ambushed.
He was one of the best thieves in Hyboria.

NOTE : Was, since the stories of him now is actually being read through scrolls ^^

Sorry about the off-topic

My warrior is. Hes a big orc wearing full heavy dragon armor, shield and an axe. I like to sneak though dungeons to get the drop on enemies and it helps me avoid traps. I have a bunch of archery enhancing armor and jewelry so i can take out weak people fast and quietly and help weaken harder ones before they get to me. Helps with stealing too.
