One thing you miss from Obvilion or Morrowind...

I know that, I was asking about Obvilion.
It's the previous TES game I guess o.O

(seriously, toggle option ffs!)

Modders have discovered why there isn`t a toggle option for 1st person Kill cams.

It`s because some moves have NO 1st person graphic at all. Probably explains the Horse and werewolf thing too.

Guilds and stories being different things, just as they are in real life. Oblivion can't tell the two apart. Skyrim makes some strides in distinguishing the two, but still confuses them in inconvenient ways.

Pretty much everything. I guess it′s easier to say what I don′t miss... like the fact that you can choose only one birthsign in every playthrough.

Skyrim plays more like an action-RPG.

Yeah, hell if I remember the plot to "Blood on the Ice", which makes it pretty hard to follow the vague "Investigate" instructions I see on the list of objectives.

I miss how quests didn't just send me down dungeons in Oblivion.

Morrowind - The fast travel system: ships, silt striders, teleports, spells...The place felt huge and populated. Skyrim has one carriage driver.

Oblivion - 1st person horse riding. Even Daggerfall had it. :)

When compared to Skyrim ...

From Oblivion: Dang not much. All I can come up with is an honorable thieves guild. More Daedra maybe? The white elven ruins were pretty cool.

From Morrowind: Cliffra... no. Becoming head of a House and being able to build up the home from nothing to a fine dwelling. Also building up the town in Bloodmoon. Epic final battle. Rare artifacts. Daedric Ruins.

From Daggerfall: Lock Bash. Writting on your map. A bank. A pack mule. Nymphs.

Reputation, attributes, paperdoll, first person horse riding, more clothing and armor pieces, bookstores, and decent maps. I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them right now.

My own fort/town. I'm sorry, no house in Skyrim compares to Tel Uvirith. Actually few castles compare to it... some hold capitals are insignificant compared to it. Of course I couldn't have Tel Uvirith in Skyrim.... you needed levitation to get to the bedroom.

This is what I miss, too. I miss joining the Geat House and earning your stronghold. It wasn't a matter half a dozen quests and you're in charge! You had to level up in the guilds to continue. You had to have certain skills. And the Great Houses were even more specialized, and you could only choose ONE. That made for more replay value.

And in a similar vein, I miss that your character's face would change if they were near someone they liked or hated...a smile for a friend or a sneer for someone they didn't like.
Yes. These robots need some emotions.

The thing i miss the most is collecting seemingly useless spoons, forks, knifes, lanterns and pretty much anything else that isn't nailed to the floor xD

Oh, this too!!!! (Do we really ahve to pick just one thing?) There was so much to collect in Morrowind. Different colors of glass and CANDLES! I collected candles and displayed them (easily) on all my bookshelves. I guess if I have to pick one thing I miss, it's MORROWIND! Why can't they just re-make that game with today's technology? *sigh*

A great many things others in this thread have already mentioned.

A great many things in this thread that I, or other modders have/are/will be working on to get into Skyrim. :)

Basically if you could make morrowind look like skyrim. With the better combat and all. Yeah I'd take that. But dont get me wrong I love Skyrim.

Spellmaking.

I'm already done with Skyrim after just 3 months whereas Oblivion held me for 2+ years over 3 systems. If Spellmaking can't be put in for DLC, I'd rather that there was no DLC and that they just jump to work on TES:VI now. Skyrim is already showing a lot of tarnish for being a just a few months old and Todd Howard's sewer of a magic system is a good part of the reason why.

The topic title says "One thing you miss from Oblivion or Morrowind", but how about the opposite I don't miss the repair hammer in Skyrim that's for sure.

However there is another thing that both Skyrim, Morrowind has and that's depth in both games in their own ways, but imo there were no depths in Oblivion period and of course the only thing there were accurate is the lore in Oblivion. :obliviongate:

Other than that I can make a list of things I miss in Skyrim, but I won't do it in this thread since it would be off topic.

i miss being able to see my character in the inventory screen.
Me too.
