Personal ideas for upcoming DLC?(Attention Bethesda!)

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:54 am

Also a good point, or different bombs rely on differnt skills, a poison bomb would rely on sneak, a fire bomb would rely on one handed, smoke for sneak and so on

Tying everything to the Alchemy Skill was a great idea. Currently, Poisons and Potions are pretty bland and limited. I think expanding on a non-conventional playstyle to add utility to the game AND crafting is a great idea. Crafting right now is way too focused on being directly tied with effectiveness. I don't think crafting should be this way, it should be more utility-oriented as well as expanding player options, not just making you a god.

Perfect! The ability to effectively "USE" a bomb would be tied to your sneak skill

this might work, but still I can't imagine it implemented.

arrow crafting on the other hand will be hopefully in the DLC

Exactly its all about immersion and individual playstyle. I agree alchemy is bland right now. I don't need to craft potions theres plenty available everywhere... and poisons for my blade dont really have an effect for higher level charactors because your states ensure the death of your opponent with the attack. It's simply a new way to play and invest your time in by creating something new and functional that I think is missing from that world

I really hope so and yes it likely won't be implemented on this game but it is however food for thought. A new direction that can take us the fans deeper into our game on a new level, deeper customization is always better and I don't think anyone will disagree with that.

and it might not be as difficult as it seems. Fire, ice, and lighting are tied to the destruction skill, using those codes and slightly altering them and then moving those new codes to a new skill is almost preset, not saying its easy per say but it can be done without working from scratch (fire, frost and lighting bombs tied to the one handed skill)...

More Perks that are "Secondary" would be appreciated. It feels very one-dimensional as you basically have 1H, 2H, Archery, or Magicka and any combination thereof. Sneak is more or less the only secondary. Pickpocketing, Lockpicking, and Speech leave a lot left to be desired. Traps would be a welcomed Perk tree as Archers would have a way of kiting for example with Caltrops, Mines, and Bear Traps or use a Smoke Bomb to escape. Assassins could choose to only invest in Poison Bombs, Darts, etc. and kill enemies without ever getting their hand bloody.

And what about the smithing skill I mentioned earlier (crafting and mixing raw metals/ingots into different armors and weapons creating a completely unique armor set or weapon) Does that seem like something that would be cool to do?

Love those Ideas! or being able to design an arrow with a bomb attached to creat an aimed explosion or effect from a distance

Definitely. Smithing's problem is that it makes exactly what you find in your journey and is EASIER to make than find. It further is the only way to have itemization scale. It having a purpose outside of that is more fitting for Smithing. I would rather it work the way you have suggested and the vendor would do the improvements and the player could not control that.

What about the ability to purchase any place you want and rent it out or keep it as your own as long as you have the ceptim A La Fable... Fixing things up in towns creating a better town in turn that gives you better equipment or something. Thats desirable, to impact those around you through betterment... Or plunge them into poverty by becoming a slum lord if you wanna get nasty because the guy on the street bumped into you and them got lippy lol

i got ya there. but you pick whats done where like i said earlier, you bring dwemer metal, eboney ingot and some deadric hearts and some dragon bone, from that you choose what goes where (pommel, hilt, blade, chest, boots and so on, blending them to create something new) but the vendor or blacksmith would create it determining its properties (good and bad)

thanks to some of you guys who arent bashing on me for this topic.

and again people are free to comment, even if this topic was meant to devs. you can comment as long as its related to theme... no off topic and no angry mobs.

someone said why should these two be in DLC if upcoming DLC will be meaty? well, tell me then... how does DLC become meaty? by adding one quest which lasts even 20 real hours? nah, its when theres so many different things added, if my 2 ideas would be implented, the DLC would get what? meatier.

and bombs cannot be overpowered, because im pretty sure devs could always balance it.

someone said mod can do it, of course mod can do such thing, but to make it flawless, you have to get as much access on the game as the devs do. aint i right?

yes devs wuld have to do it 100%, these are all interesting suggestions though, like i said it's about providing more options that can be applied to YOUR game playing style

Adding an expansion to the game is great and does wonders but I believe the implement of little things like those being discussed is what really refreshes the game adding more immersion and replayability in my opinion

im not sure about the race thing... i mean that if theyre dead, or if theyre very rare (and hiding from everybody, living in secret) then there is no point. as because if you start playing as that (dead) race, the whole story kinda changes in skyrim... and thats not worth it in my opinion. although if there could be mett somebody who came to skyrim for hes own mission (or maybe secrets) and you could cooperate with him, that could be done, that would be much easier than adding whole new playable race.

such race as dwemer...? im not really sure what kind of races there are in Elder Scrolls series... i only know those which are already in Skyrim
