Yeah, "marriage" in this game isn't exactly fleshed out. You get a bit of daily cash and a homecooked meal. That's about it. Here is hoping modders can round it out to mean something. I picked the girl I picked because I like her, and it sure would be nice if it felt like our characters were special to each other, instead of just getting a throwaway "yes dear" line or two. Being able to buy them clothes and accessories (or find them on mobs and exploring) that they would wear would be fantastic. Make all that spelunking and mob-slaying worthwhile if it meant you could net some cool "fluff" to gift your beloved.
I ended up marrying Camilla Valerius (from Riverwood Traders) and at first things worked out good - she'd tend to the store, I'd go out and "collect" our inventory (or at least sold her a lot of stuff). But after the honeymoon was over, I realized how shallow she is. Every single time I come home, she goes on about that damned claw I returned to her and her brother.. which was one of the very first quests I did at < lvl 5. I'm level 49 now, and nearly a year of in-game time has passed. Give it up girl, it's been 6+ months since you've even seen that damn claw and it's tearing our marriage apart. I guess it's time I'm honest with her about my connections to the Dark Brotherhood, and that a DB member (or guild-master no less) doesn't get divorced, we get "widowed."
