Its changing FOV not going backwards more FOV more you can see more resulting in smaller objects. I will go post a video on xifre want to see me do it in BF3 if you want.
Sure looks like going backwards to me. In the first shot he is about 10 yds from that shack. In the last one he is about 100 yds. That is moving backwards.

no that is changing FOV I can make video if want of me doing on screen if you want. Same results increasing FOV means more in your field of view to have more on your screen things need to take less space.

I understand what you are trying to say. But what that shows is increasing the distance from that shack. I can increase my FOV in RL by backing up. That is exactly what that slide is doing. Increased FOV would keep the PC at the SAME distance from the shack and just increase the screen. You can call it increasing the FOV. I call it backing up.

He is the same distances from the shack the view of it is different of surrounding areas because it seems smaller due to the increase of FOV.

Skyrim FOV differences same spot never exited the console so couldn't move if I wanted too.

It's a little bit of time, but this is a really good explanation. It's a video so not a lot of reading, and he even directly talks about the differences in consoles (ie. couch & TV) versus a PC (desk & monitor).

Try adding "fNear1stPersonDistance=0.0000" to the Skyrim.ini under Display and play around with it. Not sure what the default is, around 4-5.

I use 78 as a FoV personally.
