All i can tell you is that i beta tested 1.5 with no issues at all. Since 1.5 proper release yesterday i still have had zero problems.

And Skooma is correct, almost all of the fixes are retroactive

Sony and MS's approval process takes 1-2 weeks.. so at the soonest I would expect it for another 4 days

So no fix for the most conspicuous bug in the game? That of the atomic nirnroot glow?

Sure, give us wanky gimmicks like kill cams, instead of fixing the in-your-face issues.

What is the point of the beta patch? Just to see if it runs or do they not care about feedback?

Sure thing, dumb down textures......

In my opinion and from my personal observation, the whole point of Bethesda's "beta" patch program is invite PC-using volunteers to see if either their patch candidates deliver their intended results... or to see if they duplicate the entire v1.2 debacle from a few months back.

I'm one of those guinea pigs (so to speak). I don't mind it at all because it's far easier to rollback to a previous version on the PC if something's amiss, rather than trying the same approach on a console.

I too always wait before patching. Mostly to ensure the latest SKSE and mods I use are updated.

I'm on the PC, and after the patch installed itself, my one archery character's bow damage went from 36 to 88; the other character's damage went from around 120 to 221.

No other weapons or gear has been impacted by the patch.

Now I can one-shot everyone sigh.

I hate playing off-line all the time but guess I'm going to have to start. I loaded the game yesterday for the first time at 8 PM EST, and the patch was already installed. I knew there was a beta out, but wasn't aware the patch was released yesterday.

I wonder sometimes why Bethesda can't be more customer-friendly and announce things in a better way than burry the release info on some blog somewhere.

I also would like Bethesda and Steam to set up the patch installation so you're asked first if you want to install it or not - but chances of that happening are slim to none.

Glad I didn't just jump straight into 1.5 this morning, gonna block Steam from my firewall til I see many reports of 1.5 being a good patch.

I've been reading this forum and Steam, and haven't seen anyone else who seems to have this problem. I must be a special snowflake lol.

You guys get the patches when they are stable. What's wrong with that?

They also had stability way back when...the problem is, 'way back when' is so 'way back' that coding games for consoles is more or less reliant on backward compatibility.

Fair enough. :P I hadn't seen it posted before, but then I just assumed that the majority of players are warriors, not archers, so it could go unnoticed for a few hours or so, I presume.

Anyway, I'm really on the fence over this patch, I REALLY want the new killcams, but I read that it breaks killcam mods, I don't want to sacrifice my killcam enhancements I already have in favour of some extra animations. I also read that it isn't possible to do the killcam mods without the new CK release, so yeah, probably going to be a while. :P

There is a few positives to 1.5 for me though, I get to disable a few .esp's that fix bugs. Now that Beth fixed them properly. ^^

I've found one other player, said his bow damage went from 17 to 30.

BTW, you see a lot more issues in the Hardware/Software forum, especially since that's broken down by the equipment you use to run the game, i.e., PC, XBox, or PS.

Aye, cheers for the heads-up, probably will go read some there now. :)

OMFG. Don't even say that! It's happened to me a couple times recently, quite a bit. ESP. the 1st person animations!

I'm terrified now.. and I was just about to start an Archer cause of the new killcams. Sigh.. i'll wait a week.. maybe two..

That would just be too funny, going into first archer kill cam, your jaw drops, your like "this is amazing" and then, your computer sparks, disc tray shoots out, skyrim is fried along with your hardrive
