How can I play evil?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:22 am

There's murder, then there is murder with black soul gems. There is also Fury; why go to the effort of killing an annoying peasant yourself, when you can get them to attack a town full of guards? While laughing from the shadows, of course.

Does that give you bad rep? If you're hiding in the shadows?

If you aren't seen, you won't get a bounty. Supposedly.

Which means you have to make stuff in the open.

Where you either run away or get caught.

Sounds very tricky to me, if you want to go back to your house for instance?

I always find it difficult to play an evil character. Not because of the game but because of me. I have an "evil" character now but he's mostly doing good things. But the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves' guild and Daedric Quests have lots of opportunities for evil.

And maybe these videos will help:

If your definition of "evil" in Skyirm is "you currently have a huge bounty", then don't get a house in a town you want to be seen as "evil" cause people and guards kill known evil guys on sight.

Not if you don't get caught in the act.

Why do you think you have to get caught or have witnesses to your crimes for them to count? Surely if you're trying to be evil, you want to get away with it, no?

I hated that in Oblivion. What was the point to be a master thief that could steal anything without anybody ever seeing you, of doing kills so well hidden it just felt like the victim died on the spot with no reasons, only to have everyone in the world hate you because of some kind of spider sense or something.
Quite easy to avoid getting caught steeling in Oblivion, even if npc is in the same room as you, just make sure you are in sneak all the time.

Now killing is different, the victim will often report you, you can avoid much of this with single hit to kill but guards still reports you.

Skyrim is better here, except that animals report crime.

You do not understand. I was talking about the negative effect of Infamy points you got through doing the "evil" guilds quest lines that caused nearly everyone in the world to magically hate you even if you never were even seen doing the deeds.

Besides, nearly all the thief's guild quests were not even remotelly evil. Heck, nearly all you did was helping some poor guy get rid of a dreadful curse so that he could go back to his grieving wife that was desperatly looking for him! Infamy for all that?

Problem is Dark Brotherhood require you to be sneaky. what if I want to be evile and not sneaky? I don't realy consider thieves guild to be evile they brake the law but that don't make you evile.

Someone begs to differ.
