I didn't try drinking until I got to the Bee and Barb in Riften. I was brimming with anticipation as Talen-Jei told me about their alcoholic selections...

You should really be able to drink enough ale/mead/wine that your characters vision goes blurry then stagers about and falls flat on his face.

if a couple seconds of blurry gives you a rise, then, go with it. but, i need just a touch more gameplay than that.

you could try getting drunk yourself then play the game

yes i think that will be the best solution

I did this once and and ended up shooting Arniel Gane in the chest with a Daedric arrow. This happened when an ancient dragon attacked and all he did was walk around doing nothing. Then at one point he even bumped into me, making me miss my shot. So when the dragon was dead, so was he.

Really bad idea.

As for drinking in the game? You can actually do that IRL. No need to sim it in a video game.

I posted earlier about my experience with Sleeping Tree Sap. Give 'er a guzzle and watch your screen get hazy!

Quote from UESP "
Sleeping Tree Sap is a potion that gives the player a "drug like" effect. It provides both slow (25 seconds) and fortify health (100 hp for 45 seconds). In addition, it provides a unique effect, "drugged" for 45 seconds. This effect causes the player's screen to be tinted purple and become blurry. There are no known side effects.
It appears to be legal in Skyrim, unlike Skooma. It possesses the most powerful narcotic effect in the game, as no other potion/ingredient provides the 'Drugged' effect when consumed.
The legal Sleeping Tree Sap is much more difficult to obtain than the illegal Skooma. The only merchants who sell the sap are randomly encountered skooma dealers, who always carry 2 bottles. It is however the only drug that can be created by the player. Using the spigot on the tree at Sleeping Tree Camp will produce one vial of sleeping tree sap.

I think if you drink enough you should pass out with a small chance of you waking up in a random part of skyrim.
