I would join them on another save but in this one I killed them all for saying they hunt werewolves.

it's weird that you can't join them, they have a hall and everything. I'm hoping it's coming later.

As with Fallout New Vegas and the bus blockade near the Mojave police station and all the references to Ulysses, I am thinking that they definitely have been included for a DLC. On the one hand, I like that we get to know stuff beforehand, on the other hand it has a bitter taste, because it could have been added already...

@topic

*spit*

For Lady Azura I must destroy them!

Also: Stendarr is the god of mercy and they basically are following a no f*ckin mercy policy...

I feel... like there was a quest chain... and at the last moment they went back on it and decided to leave the NPCs there... and whenever I see one I just think I could've been a Vigil of Stendarr... maybe there will be something with them in the DLC IDK

They are mobile disease cure's so you don't have to find a temple out in the middle of nowhere. Next time you see one, get a disease and go talk to them ;)

Yeah... but... they have a ligitament background, they worship Stendarr, there purpose could be tied really closely to some srs daedric stuff, y not? I mean it's faction that is not hostile...

Sure, probably part of some future dlc. I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

Every time I see them I wonder what is going on with them. Pretty much the same things you stated, was their a faction quest line planned and got scrapped? Are they part of future dlc plans? I don't know, but I definitely hope to see some dlc centered around them.

I think they are going to be part of DLC reinstating the quests that got removed from them. Remember if you talk to them at the beginnign of the game (or maybe it's from a book) they tell you the location of their headquarters. And then youj visit there, and it is completely pointless to go to.

well theres a daedra heart you can steal...
and I already killed them all on my assassin, basicly because of a dragon attack and a glitch that mad eme ahve to kill them all in order not to be sent to jail... and they were/are pointless...

It's not worthy of a map marker being added however. When you consider that things like shrines and dungeons get map markers added. Whereas just one daedra heart?

It appears to be a quest that was scrapped for some reason (11/11/11 most likely), just like Mjoll and Riften.

I imagine that they'll be part of a DLC. Seems like they're too present to not be used.

I find the Vigilants to be very creepy. A band of self-righteous thugs who go around killing anyone who they consider 'evil', all in the name of the god of mercy. More then a bit of an oxymoron going on there. They are Tamriel's version of the Spanish Inquisition, except without the fluffy pillows and comfy chairs. OTOH, I do believe they are a great addition to the game, exactly because of the creep factor they possess. I often wonder if the devs had more in mind with them, but just did not have the time to create any questlines/a joinable faction around them.

It does seem redundant having the Silver Hand and the Vigilants though. They are both doing the same thing, with the same bloodthirsty zeal. I think they could have simply done away with the Silver Hand altogether, and used the Vigilants in their place (don't want to give away any spoilers).

I'd build a Vigilant character in a second. Skyrim has too few organizations dedicated to eradicating evil. (Are there any?)

I do wish they hadn't bent over backwards to give each character or organization a good and bad morality, though. I know, I know, it's more realistic - well, kind of. And anyway, in a game I want to be heroic.

Plus, have you talked to the daedra in Skyrim? They're nasty! They make the Oblivion daedric princes look like teddy bears!

I would make a Vigilant character right now, except I'm holding out for the possibility that they'll work them in a DLC for later. Seems like there's really some infrastructure in place for this already.

**** the Vigilants of Stendarr! My main is in the vampire faction so those jerks always try to ambush him. Finally got sick and tired of it and found their base of operations. Killed everyone inside and turned http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a160/MrDarkSim/tes5/f4c49ef1.jpg. I also collect the Amulets of Stendarr to keep as a kill count. So far I have 43 of them.
