Yeah, he's right about the points in this video and they are good ones.
Unfortunately, "the game industry" is completely right about something else: Making games more simplified, easy to understand (==shallow), and holding the players hand to open the game to a wider audience and make a sell a lot more. Sadly, those things make games boring.
They're also right about: Making sequels instead of starting a new series sells better, is less work, and opens more opportunities to sell more in the future. This isn't -necessarily- a bad thing, but it is a bad thing when too much of the game's content, engine, etc. are recycled, and that's happening pretty often. Of course it's not as bad in Skyrim as in other games, but it does it worse than any previous TES game.
