Armor Disappointment

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:46 am

a smart assassin wears something casual untill he needs to disappear in the shadows to get something done (think about the real ninja that were in japan, they dressed as servents and civilians the vast majority of the time)

Master thieves can wear whatever they want, because they aren't seen anyways.

I care little about what they look like, but the stats should change. No silly damage reduction crap - if a sword gets through your armor it deals the same amount of wound as if without armor. Damage Treshold system please. It hits hard or it hits none, that's how armor mostly works.

The blades armor is pretty sleak and would probably look good with the right hood. It also comes unenchanted so you can do what you like with it. It's definitely not bulky the way most armors are. That said it's still a suit of armor. Its unfortunate that there aren't more articles of clothing that come unenchanted that look appropriate for a thief.

As far as looking casual goes, maybe if you're role playing that heavily. Most people just want that fantasy look and are not really trying to blend in to society. Yea it's not realistic I get that. But this is a fantasy game. Realism isn't exactly what a lot of players are going for here.

thieves guild armor, shrouded armor, and nightingale are literally the only sneaky looking gear in the game
There's nothing like a fully armored daedric armor sneaker wielding a warhammer!

As in, non clunky/overstylized, or ridiculous looking. Steel plate/dark brotherhood = decent. Dwarven/glass = ridiculous.

Dwarven looks pretty sweet, the great swords on the other hand look japanese, im the sense that they always have swords that are WAY to big to be handled properly.

the point is, i would like to have the option to make an armor that reflects my characters style, ie something along the lines of the nightingale armor, if i was in the warrior class i would probably go for daedric or dragon, a thief probably leather, can't make up my mind for a mage, since i happen to like making my own armors and enchanting them i would like something that resembles an assassin, everything else is pretty cool, the weaponry i can match up to suit my character, perhaps a few more difficult opponents after level 50, the only ones to give any trouble now are vampires but even they don't last that long...(sigh)

There is no reason for an assassin to look "assassin-ish". In fact, a smart sneaker would use a more subtle outfit then something making the wearer noticeable and out of place. I find it weird that the nightinggales would even commission such an outfit, considering that they are supposed to be master thief's.

Exactly. Do you think special ops operating in foreign countries wear "special ops armor"? No. A real man's assassin would wear plain clothes. OP is a whiner who abused the crafting system. If it were up to me, he would have to play on master without crafting for the next year.

Grow up? I'm not the one whining that my video game doesn't have fancy enough armor for me. I am content. I need to grow up because I compared a video game to real life? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds to anyone over the age of sixteen (chronologically or mentally)?

EDIT: I would also like to point out the fact that your username is Drake Malice. Sounds like teenage angst if ever I heard it. But hey, that's cool. We were all young once - I just point out hypocrisy whenever I can.

who is OP, if OP is me, then i have been playing on 'MASTER' and admittedly my armor is 'LEATHER', weaponry on the other hand is the best the game has to offer, and no apologies for that, it looks cool and does the job, poisoning opponents can be fun to, but nothing like watching your blade cut the victims throat.
