Skyrim or any other video game made you dizzy nauseated?

Oblivion did this to me, not Skyrim so far. Play in third person, it helps. Also keep some low light in the room to avoid light-dark contrast. At least that is another trigger for dizziness for me.

It does have a lot to do with light contrast, and speed of motion. I would assume console triggers are less sensitive and/or drag, so you would "float" more towards your left/right directions than a PC, where you could keyboard+mouse glance, more like how it naturally occurs.

Anyway, I would assume its more motion sickness than anything.

I haven't had that problem with Skyrim, but with certain towns and dungeons in Morrowind. Playing too many hours late at night might have something to do with it, though... (I don't do that anymore since my kids wake me up early in the morning :) )

Amnesia and Dead Space have that effect on me, and it's not pleasant. As much as I would like to play those games, all I found myself doing was turning them off because I felt sick (and not because of the content).

I have real problems with third-person stuff. I was watching someone play through Saw: The Video Game the other day, and rather than the brutal murders making me feel ill, it was having to watch the guy moving around the screen!

Yes, Oblivion is actually very cronic on me, I feel sick just by remembering, and I totally loved that game, that very first cell scene is enough to make me cold sweat and nauseate. Its slightly better on 1st... cause the 3rd nearly causes me throw up. I don't feel it with Skyrim though, but that Deus Ex too had me dizzy. Interesting topic, Id never thought it was this common.

I don't have a fear of heights, I actually love the thrill of jumping off high things, don't know what it is but my insides feel all gooey and fuzzy when I'm dropping. (Obviously it only lasts a couple seconds, but it feels alot longer)

When I took my first leap of faith in Assassins Creed I got that same feeling as if I had done it for real. Probably just immersed into it.

Never felt sick though, and my screen is usually a flash during combat.

If you stare at a screen for too long, and then you get up to quickly it makes me light headed and some times I fall back down. But it wares off in seconds

Wait... Does it feel almost like you're about to black out? As in, everything goes black and you lose vision for a second then it all comes back?

Happens to me when I stand up too fast from ANYTHING, and always wondered what the hell causes it for me, cos noone I have ever asked in my entire life has ever even heard of anything similar.

Dead Island is a good example because it has a narrow FOV (I think it was 62). Also there is a mod for Fallout3 Fook2. It had a annoying glitch it narrows the FOV down to 55 it make me sick. Luckily for Fook2 when you are in first person view you can adjust the first person view by zooming out so much the shake and the wobble is hardly noticeable. Its a pity you are on a ps3 if you are on a pc there is a way to adjust Field Of Vision. There are three settings that you have to put in your ini file fDefault1stPersonFOV=85, fDefaultWorldFOV=85, FDefaultFOV=85. Those are the setting I have and I don't get sick. As for Dead Island I have it on 82.
