Alchemy! Make multi-effect potions, make and use barter potions, profit! My character doesn't horde yet she is still able to clean out the merchants in Whiterun on a regular basis just selling off stuff she doesn't use anymore.

I got just over 30k on one character and I love amassing gold. I've also got enough gems now that entire floors of houses are covered in them. I also heard of throwing them at beggars using the telekinesis spell sounds like a laugh. Think I'll try that. :P

I was trying to RP a character that couldn't go dungeon diving, and was supposed to struggle to survive. Then I delivered a letter from a house to the Falkreath Inn (fifty feet away, all told) and suddenly TWO HUNDRED GOLD. WTF?!?

At the same time, you have dangerous and difficult TG quests that pay peanuts (by the standards of a real character) because of your level.

No "looting the dead" is too categorical a restriction for me. There is a difference between looting the bodies of fallen soldiers and liberating the obviously stolen wealth from slain bandits, marauders and thieves. For some reason I don't loot stormcloak or imperial troops, or the dead in nordic ruins. However, I have no problem looting the bodies of those who died trying to loot mine.

As to picking locks ... how can I walk away without knowing what's in there? It's a compulsion. I even pick the locks on the doors of obviously empty jail cells. Can't help myself.

I don't really care, but on my alchemist I can get rich very very easily while using all those restrictions. But like I said I don't care if my player is incredibly rich, if I did I just wouldn't sell my potions

What city is Proudspire Manor located?
And what makes it good for a mage?

Solitude. And nothing in particular - my character just likes the town and has many good friends there :) its more for roleplaying than anything. Although I believe the house has both an alchemy station and an enchanting table, which are always useful for mages :)

I mainly buy Soul Gems. Not to mention it's taking me forever to save for that house in Solitude. Proudspire Manor I think.

I don't really impose RP restrictions save for eating three times a day and sleeping at least 8 hours each day. I retcon the carrying hundreds of items deal by having my character putting everything in a magical bag she enchanted herself. It leads to a pocket realm, but it can only hold so much.
