Magic Sneak Attack

Would be nice if it had 2x multiplier unless you unlock the dual cast perk, at which point it increases the multiplier rather than the base damage.
I agree, that would actually make a lot more sense :)

What I don't get is why an Icy Spear can't do crits. It is prtty much a giant arrow impaling someone.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever thought of having a magic type sneak attack multiplier? I think it would be very cool and makes just about as much sense as a bow.

It /shouldn't be anything too crazy; maybe 2x or 2.5x since it shouldn't be AS effective as the bow.

Also I don't think it should have a perk but maybe you guys do? Let me know! I'm just looking to give my Nightblade a little incentive to use his destro magic while he's still hidden.
I disagree, I think an enormous ice spike hitting someone in the back when they arent paying attention, or even if they are, would do much more damage than an arrow. Plus I think there should be a damage multiplier for hitting someone in the back anyways, without sneaking. Last night I was doing a companion quest and Farkas was with me, he was attackin a falmer gloomlurker from the front, so rather than risk killing him the same way as Lydia (standing behind me and to the right and still seemed to kill her whille power attacking forward with a battleaxe) I decided to circle around back, the falmer was blocking alot of blows from Farkas, but i was digging into him from behind with the axe and he didnt even seem to care.

I always thought it was a good idea too.

As for the quiet spellcasting perk, I think that's PERFECT for this :)

As for a class name, lets call the the "Illusionists" or if anybody has got a better name :o

I just made a mod for spell critical damage.. looked into making one for sneak attacks.

Not possible through perk creation as I thought. Well on the PC side someone might figure it out through papyrus.

That would be pretty cool. I can't tell you how much I love throwing an Ice Spear from like a mile away and have it pierce a bandit's back.

I would like an animation in which my Dunmer sneaks up on an enemy and pierces an enemy's head with a concentrated shock.

Nah, instead of sneak bonuses for destruction (let's be honest, it's not very sneaky ;))
They should make it level.
I love destro but it's sh*t as it is :(

Solution: sneak up on a traget and use either master level fire-destruction spell or the Blizzard spell.

Fortunately the two aren't mutually exclusive.

In the order they'd help Destruction the most:

Spellmaking
Enchantments for damage boost
Scaling
Sneak bonuses

I agree with all of these because the other 2 pure damage skills HAVE THESE! Why did destruction get the short end of the stick? Don't get me wrong I love destruction magic, but no spell making and/or sneak bonus just makes it inferior to the other 2.

Apparently there is a cut Conjuration spell called "Spectral Arrow" that sounds ripe for sneak attack damage. It was apparently originally intended as a quest reward for "Infiltration".
