Your Reflection

Only in the Betheseda forums could people get into a real argument over morals if they actually existed in the TES world...

My character K'helt reflects my personality quite well, if I were an adventurer and a Humanoid cat :biggrin:
and for the argument on the 1st page, I cannot even get myself to do the Dark Brotherhood in the game itself rather than actually do it if it were real o.o
I have a deficiency for being Evil in this game, or at least murdering Innocent people. :|
for Role playing K'helt, I refuse to harm anything that's not trying to Kill me, or harming others, that's basically how I'd be if I were actually in Tamriel.
the only quality I'd be missing that K'helt has is Courage o.o
I'd rather not fight an army of Drauger. lol

Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned inside out
And I liked to take a minute just sit down son,
And tell you how I became the Jarl of a town named Whiterun!
:cool:
Now This is just great! :D

My first character in every TES game is always a self-insert for some major Mary Sue fun time. I always go with an Argonian because their description pretty much covers my personality in a nutshell. I'm also natural swimmer IRL and having the option of diving down under and staying there indefinietly (water breathing yeeeaaahhh) when sh*t hits the fan is sort of... relaxing. Wish reality would be like that. However, being an outsider in both worlds, I'm naturally curious and try to understand everything and everyone which makes my Argonian enter a never ending limbo between right and wrong.

For example, I find the character of Cicero interesting and would like to get to know him more but I don't want to join the DB and kill random people in the name of Sithis. If the dread father wants victims then he'll better move his eternal [censored] and get them himself. Lazy bastard. Still, Cicero may not be a lost cause. Even in Oblivion, members like Ocheeva made me reconsider my opinion because even though what the DB stood for was unnecessary cruelty, the members had plenty of merit and personality to them.

But maybe it's just me. I find even the Thalmors, Mannimarco, Mankar Camoran and Valen Dreth redeemable. Especially Valen, that poor guy. Busted him out of prison in Oblivion and made him a follower with a mod. He actually took quite a few hits that were meant for me. Now that I think about it... My self-insert is basically a scaly hum-animal that runs and hits the water the very minute something goes awry while always striving to please and aid those who deserve it. Also a huge advocate of peace, equality and ranged weapons if the previous two dosen't work out. Maybe a little bit of magic. Too clumsy and scaredy for real, face-to-face combat and not smooth enough for sweet talk. What a sh*tty Mary Sue. :C

Never would, i'm a lazy person and a bit boring and crazy. I'd just be sleeping and hanging around a tavern all the time.

My main character is a nord because I'm from Scandinavia, I tried to make him look like be, but I went insane when I was going to make the nose, I named him after me (but with a fantasy-style version of my name) and made an awesome backstory for him.

His main goal is to be a hero, and he don't do crimes and other things for personal gain.

Yes and of course honour is much more important in Tamriel than our world
Personally I'm a pragmatist, although I'd never kill someone for money, if someone deserves to die poison or a dagger in the back works for me, but to the average Nord thats dishonourable

Redguard.
I'd probably be a mage of some sort. Too nondiscreet to be a thief and too weak to be a warrior.

If I were born in Tamriel with a similar personality as me right now:

Dark Elf - They're cultured, have the whole House loyalty structure, and favors those who are with merit rather than a mercantile or brawn based society. Every house has a specialty and you can join the house that represents your specialty. Not to mention that the Dark Elves can adapt to changing cultures and environments while still sticking to tradition. They did what my ancestors(Chosun Korea) failed to do.

For Archetype, I'd go Nightblade - I'm a fitness and agility person rather than brute force. In schoolyard fights, I always think ahead as well and attack using human anatomy as a base. Kind of a nerd in that sense and I'm good with book smarts. Only problem is that I don't read books but that's another story :P

Faction, I'd go College of Winterhold - They're living a pretty nice lifestyle. The students are all nice one way or another, even the braggart, and I WUB Brelyna. The professors have a nice, immersive way of teaching rather than memorization. Other than the cold, which I can deal with pretty easily, it's a fairly safe area. Just stay away from anyone who wants to "test" a spell on me.

Morality - Neutral, just like in real life. There's no such thing as the good guys and bad guys in my book. I try not to pledge loyalty to anyone who doesn't deserve it. As such, I pledge loyalty to the College of Winterhold since they teach me but even as a Nightblade, I will never side with the Dark Brotherhood. They're religious assassins who don't work towards my interests and besides, the chances of me being forced to kill my loved ones is there.

Religion - Probably worship Azura or a Daedric Lord who's realm isn't filled with chaotic machinations of evil. Maybe Hermaeus Mora but since I'm a Dunmer, I'd most likely go with Azura. She's a powerful Daedra but also not abusive of her servants. If that fails, I'll worship Talos.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This describes "me" as well as possible given the Tamriel Environment. I would join the Dark Brotherhood but that just isn't me. Maybe if they were a sort of flexible assassin organization where you don't have to take a job if you don't like it. But no, they follow a rigid god.
And it would literally be impossible to know for certain what kind of life you would live if you were born in another realm.
Your enviroment shapes who you are, more than anything else. And not just the immediate surroundings, but the state of the country and the world as a whole.
It's one thing to fantasize about the life you would lead if you were to "quantum leap" into an alternate reality as the person that you are now. But it's entirely different to just guess at it.
Many different things shape a person but NOTHING can change who YOU are. Your morals can be stretched, your preferences can be weaned, and your aspirations can be lowered/raised but who yu are is always going to be the same in one way or another because that is your genetic code.
Your genetic code could very well be different in TES universe, seeing as how the very fabric of that reality is fundamentally different than ours.
But that's conjecture best left to quantum physicists.
Then why would you bother to comment on this thread? Have you no imagination? Perhaps you have forgotten this is a fantasy game where science does not reflect well considering they prove divine beings exist everyday in TES
