Your Reflection

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:04 pm

In TES have you ever created yourself? I dont mean that Brute Orc whom is your favorite to play just because you like to smash bandits, i mean a Character/Toon/Avatar whom you see as the "Elder Scrolls Version" of you. What race did you choose to represent who you would most likely become? What Guilds did you join? What gear did you use? This is not truly a character but the embodiment of the choices and path you would choose if you lived in Tamriel, so therefore this is not truly RP since you are being YOU...

I chose Breton as i viewed them as:
  • Human
  • Caucasian
  • Adaptable to many roles
When faced with an Archetype i always go with Assassin/Thief because:
  • I choose finess over brawn
  • I am neither booksmart enough to be a Mage or strong enough to be a Warrior
  • Quiet, Hidden, and Dark embody me perfectly
I joined the Dark Brotherhood in OB and Sky since:
  • They are the mysterious, bloodthirsty, discreet family i always wanted
  • I am a huge Star Wars Nerd so "Sithis" was instantly a win-win
  • Where else can a pure Assassin work without judgement?
I always go for Vampirism 1st chance i get because:
  • Even before twilight ruined it, i was always "that Vampire kid"
  • A Style that rewards Nocturnal functions is my kind of style
  • I have a Vamp Bite tattoo on my right Jugular vein and it would make no sense to NOT see that through in TES
I always wear Shrouded Armor because:
  • It is black, intimidating, and looks great with a hood like everything i wear
  • It complements my Vamp's pale skin perfectly
  • Even though it is not that great in Sky it is still the only gear in-game that represents me best

If that's you, you need to be locked up for the rest of your life. Killing potentially innocent people is what you would really choose to do??

none of the reasons i listed depicted i was actually a murderer. If you lived in Tamriel you really could not get by without being killed or fighting back. There is always war, so either kill in open battle for an empire or kill quietly for a "family"

You said "bloodthirsty...pure assassin."I If this actually describes you, I stand by my initial post.
Killing for the dark brotherhood is hard to justify...it's not war or defense. It's murder which is great for rp. I always join. So, irl you'd assassinate some folks. Right...

now now...let us not say anything that may give cause for certain government officials to start tracking anyone's financial records for the rest of time...

No the topic is what we would be like if we were born in Tamriel...is this really that hard to grasp?

I don't believe you actually want to murder people for a living...so yeah, either the topic is what we'd rp or you're sick and the thread should be locked.
Maybe I'm taking this "you" in TES more literally than you intend.

I created myself once. Nord, tried to make someone who looked to be in her 30s (easier said than done since all female Nord presets look like 20, and if you add wrinkles they suddenly turn 50 or 70...). I'm playing as a peaceful alchemist (I use Battlecry a lot - I imagine that I cry out in terror...), I'm learning how to use the bow in self-defence and read every book I find. No factions, no crimes, stay out of dungeons and I'm not Dragonborn.

It became a little boring.

If so, I would be a farmer or a worker of some kind.

That is not answering the post, that is stating an opinion not actually relative to the question but to someone else's choices, so NO you have not answered

Myself in skyrim? I'd be the dude with a bard in tow, singing brave brave sir Robin, he bravely ran away, bravely ran away did sir Robin. When danger reared it's ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled...

Well now since you are a hunter you would be killing animals everyday, i assume you see animals as lesser life-forms than humanoids, even though in TES Khajiit and Argonians are closer to animals than men. Not to mention that even in our world many people see animal life as being just as precious as human life. And i will not even bring up the fact that soldiers are celebrated as national heroes in their home countries for "killing the other guys". Now what about these things would be any different than taking life in Tamriel as an Assassin? Survival? You need coin to live in Nirn and the DB seems to pay quite well

Hehe, then I'd nick his lute and become a bard myself. "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a song to the ego"

90% of the population would be farmers, hunters etc. Food producers like in any pre-modern society.
If I was lucky enough to not be a peasant like to think I'd be a Breton savant, learned, witty and poetic but more likely I'd be a clerk with intellectual pretensions slaving away in the East Empire Company offices.

Since the world would be far different from ours, I would lead a small band of thieves, live at some remote spot, durring the good weather, we would steal and gather what ever was available, then hide out for the winter. If the supplies started to run out most would die from the poison stew, the others would die because they refused to eat the stew.

There are many ways to survive...most of them dont involve killing innocent people. I would hunt to eat/survive.
I hope you're not going to tell me that you equate hunting/eating prey and killing someone for money.
Someone else want to weigh in? Am I the only one qho thinks it's sick that this person wants to kill some people and apparently not just as rp?
