better or worse?

Would the game have a higher replay value if some quests were only available to certain types of builds? for example the magic/bard schools would have no intrest in a fighter. The compainions would not give a mage any quests.
If you want to try those you do so on another play through with a totally different build. it seems silly that I head a college and have never spent a point trying to improve my magic skills.

Yes, I think so. One of the things I miss from Morrowind is the advancement requirements in the guilds. Then again I don't like the guilds in Skyrim since they have no ranking system and they are way to short.

I don't think putting harsh limits is a good thing, unless they really make sense. I don't see why the Companions wouldn't allow a College mage in their ranks. But in Morrowind, it's logical that you can join only one of the three Great Houses.

I just have my own restrictions, based on how I view my character. I made a warrior/mage combo character on my first playthrough who did the Companions and the College quests, but he wasn't a stealthy character at all so I avoided the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

So after 100 hours on that character I still have 2 factions to look forward to on my new sneaky character, who will avoid the Companions and the College.

ButI do agree with the idea of skill requirements for joining and promotion, it just shouldn't be too strict.

They do have quests based on skill level.

It's also very easy to max all skills with one character, so this wouldn't actually stop anyone from completing all the quests in one playthrough.

I did played different builds for different types of quests, didn't gave me that much replay value. The game still felt short.

Morrowind was like this, and I would not mind seeing this again.

I'm the type of player that likes having one account that has absolutely everything, from weapons, to every quest done. So in a way it would have annoyed me.

But it would've definitely increased the replay value. For sure.
