Your thoughts on the Gargoyle?

Hey, I heard somewhere that only Mithril can kill Gargoyles? Is that true, what about magic, or silver?

Mithril and better in Daggerfall. In comparison to Skryim, that'd likely mean elven and better, if it were to continue. But then again, Mithril and better was required for ancient vampires, ancient liches, and such (i.e. very high leveled enemies)

Mithril and better in Daggerfall.

So they are probably adding Mithril, which explains the new weapons. My guess is that mithril will be high level gear, considering Dawnguard is not for low level players, but if it is Mithril or better, my ebony weapons should do just fine

I kinda wish they hadn't shown it in the trailer.

Would've probably made me soil my pants if I genuinely wasn't expecting it.

'Oh look, a pretty sta- OH GOD WHAT THE AHHH!'

Actually, then, I'm somewhat glad they did.

This is why you don't look at trailers

I hope they're as scary as Deathclaws.

I thought people were talking about the giant thingumy when they were talking about gargoyles. What is that?

You can see the gargoyles lined up outside the keep at the very beginning of the trailer and it is day time. They are all turned to statues so maybe it is day time when they turn to stone and within darkness or at night they might come alive. Would be awesome if they did, make nighttime actually creepy and scary.

Well, at least Skyrim trolls are better than the Oblivion trolls, which looked like some offshoot breed of the monkey
what are you talking about? Sky Trolls look EXACTLY like Gorillas while OB's looked like a fantasy creature

Would of been nice if they came out at day to guard the vampires.

I can imagine walking down a hall filled with these statues, knowing that at any moment, one of them could burst to life...
Wonderfully creepy, says I, and will be great with darker dungeons mods.
Sounds like paranoia fuel to me. On topic they look pretty good. If you are a vamp can they be your allies?

I love gargoyles, and I'm glad to see they are going to be included in the world of Skyrim. Gothis fantasy, I love it.

I hope that not every stone gargoyle statue is actually alive. It would add some suspense as you'd never know which one is alive and which one is a statue.

I hope that's the case too. I also hope that they aren't like Spriggans and instantly show up every time you enter their territory. It'd be fun to see a gargoyle, sneak up on it, and bash it with a mace for a sneak attack, trying to make it crumble into dust (which could provide rarer drop items than their flesh and blood forms), only to discover it was actually a statue and my follower is secretly thinking I'm an idiot.

Also, it'd be interesting if you could make one a follower if you were a Vampire Lord.
