So at first glance it may have seemed like the http://vehq.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Dawnguard-Gargoyle.png in the trailer burst out of the wall, but if you go frame by frame he actually was in his stone form and then emerged from it. Based off of some Gargoyle lore from different media they are Stone by day and Emerge at night. Do you think that they are going to stick to that and have the gargoyles on a timer? Or will they be scripted? What would you prefer? Also what are your thoughts on the model? I think it was very well done and scary. I would hate to run into one with dark lighting mods installed lol.
It is funny how they are stone and they are related to vampires while the werewolves in Bloodmoon were frozen. And this DLC is about the sun being affected while Bloodmoon was of course, the moon.
On topic, who knows? We do see a few gargoyles in the path leading to Castle Volkihar.

That's actually the first thing i noticed in the trailer the first time i saw it.
I can imagine walking down a hall filled with these statues, knowing that at any moment, one of them could burst to life... Wonderfully creepy, says I, and will be great with darker dungeons mods.
i love the idea, i hope they do not like the sun light though (because they look strong and i like to have a back-up plan in case the [censored] hits the fan)

Yeah I want it to be random, Like A room full of statues but you dont know which one will burst lol
Hm, I'd rather have them emerge only at night. That way, blocking out the sun might have its advantages as well as disadvantages. Putting them in scripted events should only happen occasionally in dungeons (kinda like dragons, but without the dungeons)
The Gargoyles? They're looking very much like their http://images.uesp.net/b/be/DaggerfallGargoyle.gif, and are nice and scary to boot. I am very happy about them
