Is Tamriel on Earth?

Op, take everything you know about our universe and throw it out the door for elder scrolls.

The sun is a giant hole in the sky through which magic flows and the moons are the corpse of a dead god.

I hope I got that right? Not so good with lore.

As I sat outside pondering this post I gazed up at our two beautiful moons beginning to emerge from the fading light of day and thought good question op

So technically, nirn isn't even a planet? Just a flat area.

Yeah, and the stars too. The physical universe of the TES realm is quite small. Despite the night sky looking a lot like the one here in the real world, there are no uncomprehesibly distant fusion reactions, only holes to Aetherius surrounding Mundus.

Hmm, Skyrim in a lot of things looks quite realistic, but when you dig deeper it is a full blown fantasy universe. Just not too balatant about it. Not sure if it is a good or a bad thing

Thank you so much to everyone who replied! I understand now he meant 'Earth' as in ground. I just thought that in their world 'Earth' wasn't a real word since it dosn't exist. For everyone addressing the two moons thing, I had noticed this but it just added to my confusion of the quote. I'll have to check out this Lore thing what everyone keeps mentioning. I'm nearly level 40, so I do understand almost everything about the game, but just this one part confused me. :-)
