I definitely want darker dungeons, caves, and nights.

Am I the only one who finds them to be dark? I have to use candlelight or a torch, or else I bump into walls and such. How high do you people set your brightness?

Would love darker dungeons. Would make dungeon-crawling more fun and intense. Now if they gave us back the scary ghosts and wraiths from oblivion it would be perfect.

Sounds like you are the one with the brightness issue, there are candles and torches everywhere.

They might make things even darker, seen that dark cave in the game jam. I am thinking they might, and more darkness would definitely up the value of light items and spells that just makes logical sense.

I actually find the dungeons only slightly less dark than Oblivion's. Oblivion was so hard for me to look at oftentimes. I don't mind carrying a torch at night, but I had to carry one at all times to see anything on the default light settings.

I don't think so, but it would be really really cool. Being a 2 handed warrior might actually have some downsides (which would add some much needed challenge. I also can't get over the face that all the caves were well lit, even without many light sources, when caves are supposed to be one of the few places in abolute darkness.

I use mods to make the dungeons and night time pitch black dark. I hate it how in vanilla Skyrim it's always bright day light at night and in dungeons. I doubt Bethesda will darken the dungeons and night.

The one problem with this is that it puts a 2-handed warrior at a severe disadvantage. They'd either have to put away their 2-hander in favor of a 1-hander and a torch or resort to spells that might go against their characters. Unless Beth were to introduce a third option, like the wearable lanterns mod, but that kind of renders torches obsolete.

They could include large "light aqueducts" that could be lit with a torch and would light up the surrounding area (sorta like in the movie National Treasure, among others). This could illuminate the darkest areas at the expense of alerting nearby enemies and removing sneaking's viability for the time being.

I wouldn't mind the occasional dark dungeon, but if it's done in a way that it punishes players for not being Khajiit or a Vampire I take issue with it. Pitch black dungeons shouldn't be the norm is what I'm trying to say.
