Flora....modders have do something about this

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 6:38 pm

I have released the spring flowers as a modders resource, if anyone want to try it out.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=14567

Please let me know if you have any problems, like the flowers not showing up in game.
For me it work, but a friend had to make a duplicate of the flower in the Creation kit and use that copy in his esp for it to work.
I will try to work on that problem.

I will make more flowers later on, and add spring variants of bushes and trees. Re-texturing is to fun to stop now :)

Well, Enjoy :)

Some more spring flowers  Bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) - Blue, dark blue, pink and white http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/bluebellslightblue.jpg/ -- http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/bluebellsdarkblue.jpg/ -- http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/687/bluebellspink.jpg/ -- http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/43/bluebellswhite.jpg/ Scilla (Scilla siberica) - Blue, dark blue and white http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/546/scillasibericadarkblue.jpg/ -- http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/215/scillasibericablue.jpg/ -- http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/141/scillasibericaalmostwhi.jpg/ Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/96/tussilago.jpg/ Marsh-marigold (Caltha palustris) http://mageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/kabbleka.jpg/ And only five left on the list to do  Wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa), Winter Aconite (Eranthis), Hepatica, Crocus and Daffodils. Edit: That's six left to do, how could I forget Snowdrops... the only one flowering in my garden right now  Anyone have a favorite spring flower you would like me to try to do?

Look good but are those animated or are just statics?

Excellent work and I definitely support this idea 100 percent. For skyrim its fine, for anything outside skyrim the pickings are slim to non existent in the vanilla kit. Many thanks to anyone who makes new flora and fauna, knowing just how difficult modding this game is.

It may be an obvious question (from a non-modder) but could these be rigged to only "grow" / "flower" / "die back" at different times of year? THEN Skyrim's flora would become dynamic.

And tomatoes only growing ONE tomato? Hmmm ... Skyrim's default quantity did us a disservice there

As for apples - how about rigging them like bee hives so you can shoot them from trees?

Seasonal flowers, please consider http://www.findmeplants.co.uk/plant-cyclamen-hederifolium-1106.aspx, Iris (both the http://www.humphreysgarden.com/iris-reticulata-782-p.asp and the http://www.plant-identification.co.uk/skye/iridaceae/iris-pseudacorus.htm), Heathers (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/92446 / http://grow.ars-informatica.ca/plant.php?en=284&nm=Scotch%20heather) and http://www.garden-grower.com/flowers/autumn-crocus.shtml.

Just follow Bethesda's lead:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1364763-texturing-the-bethesda-way-a-vaguely-amusing-anecdote/

I see no reason this same idea couldn't be applied to Oblivion meshes... [cough] I mean your own custom meshes [/cough]

Pretty cool, elinen. You did a lot in a short period of time. I'm impressed. Looking forward to seeing that Morning Glory too. :)
