Uploading an .esm.esp pair to Steam Workshop

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 5:11 am

I have a mod that would benefit from being split up into an esp/esm pair - new forms that might need to be referenced in any compatibility patches would go in the master, overrides of existing objects that need to load later would go in the esp. Is the workshop compatible with mods like this? If it will only package and upload your currently open plugin and a .bsa with any required files, I'm thinking not.

afaik SW doesnt allow esm's to be archived or uploaded. so if you have a esp/esm pair, you are SOL when it comes to SW, but there is always skyrim nexus.

The workshop force converts ESMs to ESPs unfortunately.

What I've decided to do http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10639is have both versions of my mod, one for Steam and one for the Nexus. It's actually a bit easier for me that way - I hate having to work with .esm's in the CK, so I've just built my mod as an .esp that I can upload directly to steam. For the nexus version, I turn it into an .esm in TESVSnip then pull through all the overrides into a new .esp in SkyEdit. Should be even easier once TESVEdit is out. If Steam users want compatibility patches they can switch to the Nexus version (though they'll have to do a clean install of the mod.)
