Killmoves in real time with no camera changes

Is it possible to make killmoves happen in real-time, with no camera changes? In the Creation Kit, I crudely deleted the kill camera settings, and this allowed my character to do killmove animations without time/camera changes, however, the recipient of the killmove failed to die.

This is what I have tried so far:

1- Deleting the appropriate DoVatsAtAll camera paths (either entirely or clearing the "Camera Shot List" section). Deleting entirely allowed realtime killmoves by the player, but the npc didn't respond to the killmove (by dying).

2- Modifying the CameraShot Killcam settings. There doesn't seem to be an option here to leave the camera settings unaffected by a killmove?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
