I want to get an NPC's facial likeness from the game into 3DS max, is this possible?

When you make a face you export the FaceGen data as nif and texture files. I assume with the proper nif stuff you could just load that into the model editor. However I'm not sure if it's a straightforward nif, or some weird special FaceGen one.

you can import the facegen head into 3ds max (its a regular nif that just composites all of the chargen parts into one file), it's exporting that may cause problems. particularly skinning data and face morph data.

i havent done this extensively with a chargen head, but when i created a pre-made "figure" for my custom loading screen there were some tricky issues with exporting, primarily with the face.

you will then have to reassemble the nif in nifskope.

i guess the success will all depend on the amount of modifying you need to do on the head
