Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:23 am

How to Avoid Frost Troll on way to High Hrothgar:
1: FUS.
2: Run like my foes run from me. Run towards Graybeard's Monastery (aka High Hrothgar)
3: Chug Stamina Potion.
4: Run more. (Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you're not at Hrothgar)
5: Eat bread.
6: Run up steps of Hrothgar.
7: Wait for troll to run up steps.
8: Quickly turn around and go in.
9: Watch Troll get PWNED by Graybeards.
10: Eat more bread.

Circle them around rocks and pick them off with magic or a bow.It may take a while but it works still the best bet is to avoid them until you are a higher level.

Are there any 'Glitches' I can use against Frost Trolls ? (Not like how trolls can not climb certain things, I mean like game changing glitches :P)

If your in a jam turn down difficulty and rrrrruuuuuunnnn like h#ll, you never want to face one at a low level. Use the jumping on rocks trick,it tends to slow em down.
I've tried but I need to kill it to get to my destination... Plus, if I try the rock thing and use arrows on him, he'll heal then as I run for my destination he'll run after me and beat me the dust....

I'm guessing you used Flames.
Yeah, Flames doesn't work well against any opponent.
Now Firebolt might get you somewhere.

FUS-RO-DAH AND RUN-LIKE-HELL

on higher levels you should take them on easily, but still, low level versus a frost troll is embarassing
Given his circumstances, he only has FUS.

Anyway,
Spoiler
(The troll he's facing is clearly That One Troll, Slayer of Lydia, and Bane of New Players), It's possible to go around him, by hugging the outside of the cliff - he'll never have LoS, and you can sneak right by

I did not think of that. it really depends on how far he is in the main quest

Spoiler
I mean, if its that troll at the Thalmor Embassy (which gave me trouble on my second playthrough) he should have FUSROHDAH by then, I remember because that's what I used :)

Torch them with Flames spell and take off. Turn, then burn the bastard some more. The flame slowly eats their health as well as prevents them from regenerating

For future reference:

I had a hard time with regular trolls at first, then found an "easy" way to beat them, but you have to be quick and brave. You should sprint right past them, and they usually try to do their power attack, which takes them a while to recoup from. You can get off an arrow or two, or if you keep it tight, a sword swing, spell, etc. Repeat this until the troll is dead. If you have a companion, they should be able to pel them with arrows at the same time. Alternatively, you could summon a fire atronach. Trolls are pretty easy to kite.

Dangerous, but works and feels rewarding once you down them.

Good work! That troll had me stuck for ages. In the end I just ran like crazy, haha. I'd recommend buying firebolt for next time, and maybe a good bow? That should make it easier for you.

It's much simpler just to run and come back to it later. XD

Weak to fire my ass. They took out my follower's Flame Atronach and barreled through 5 direct Firebolts... then took me out in 2 swipes of its gnarly paws.

Disclaimer: I am level 19 trying to get into Labarynthian.

When you're low level (below 20-25) just avoid them. When you're higher level (about 30+) use your shouts to win it. Fire Breath and Unrelenting Force combined with a decent blade usually easily do the trick for me.
