doesn't most of your damage come from the overdraw perk anyways? I'd keep it if i were you.

Also another great bow at low levels is the forsworn bow, thing is beast for most of the game

It must be some sort of bug in the level scaling system. I've never gotten anything like that at low levels because I doubt it's supposed to happen.

Just keep it, you're lucky you actually got a weapon that's able to kill enemies easily.

I found a Zerusium rifle at Peragus in KOTOR 2 once.
'Bout time the game gives us good stuff!

Having played that game many times this should have extra meaning.... Zeruwhat? Just say best rifle in game in the in the first area or something the average human will understand.

I once opened the safe in the arch mages room before I was arch mage around level 20 and found an enchanted dragonbone helmet. I left it there..... When I became arch mage a few levels later I was very happy to see it still sitting there :). To bad I was a mage and didn't wear armor.

I found an elven bow at around the same level once, another great find for the level.
I don't think it's a bug or anything,it's just a rare accurance that sometimes spawns.

I would also keep it,heres why.
Weapon skills go up by how much damage you do,without enchantments or poisons, that is the total damage of the weapon its self.
This means fewer shots with a stronger bow will increase your archery skill faster or just as fast as more hits with a lesser bow.
Increasing your weapon skill is most likely your primary objective,at least for fighting enemies.

It's probably not a bug. In Skyrim loot scaling is based more on areas than the character level. OP said he was sneaking with a stealth based character, so he probably got into an area scaled to mininmum level 15 - 20+.

Go to Bard's lookout and jump.

If you live, sell the bow.

If you die, start the game over.

It's the right thing to do.

At level 5 it's more likely he'd die before getting to the jumping point ha ha.

Oh crikey, I'm level 51 now, but I still get excited when I find a powerful weapon hidden in a chest somewhere, so I always take everything...think of the Gold if you end up selling it.

Ages ago I found an Ebony Bow, which I've improved to Epic and enchanted, and it registers around 225 damage with Daedric Arrows, (though there's a bug in Archery post 1.5 I believe...its default damage is 120 or so. (Oh, and that is with some enchanted apparel as well to add a far whack.)) Still, around 450 damage when sneaking, it does take out lesser foes with one hit.

I found a spell tome: summon dremora lord with conjuration skill in the low 30s. Fortunately my character is an altmer with a natural magicka boost and an elven helmet of eminent magicka. So I can cast this expert-level spell with apprectice-level conjuration. Every other time I summon one of these beasts in combat, conjuration skill goes up by 1. LOL.

Finding that bow is such a statistical anomaly that you have to keep it. I have a whole freakin' ton of hours in this game and have never had one random loot drop that much in my favor.

Question is now how to approach the smithing tree, looks like it is leftwise for you now.

It says: Damage 34 (+7)
I have Steel Arrows equipped

Wow I forgot that when your a lower level this would be a great damage for a bow. Now I have a glass that does 302 for damage. That 36 damage will go up as you get stuff that has bow enchantments on them. I would keep it, it will probably save your life on an elder dragon or something else really powerful. Also if your using smithing you can upgrade the light side of the tree and get twice the damage on that bow.

Good for you on the find. It took a while for me to get a glass bow. If you want some better arrows you can visit the fletcher shop in solitude, he sells all the good arrows. Also the drunken huntsman in Whiterun is a weapon/bow shop. I wish we were able to create our own arrows.

Reminds me of that time when I found an Ebony shield in a giant's camp just next to Whiterun. Too bad I was just using a pure barbarian build (aka no shield, only two-handed weapons and a fur armor).
