Why so much hate for elves? :(

Also, the ends do not justify the means in the case of an objective alignment system like those found in D&D. As for subjective alignment, it's still shaky at best.

This. The ends never justify the means.

Elves are all racists; I simply return the favor. This basicly goes for every fantasy setting ever made.

Most of the hatred is based in the traditional enemies in Skyrim of the Falmer and the losses to the Dunmer (Defeat at Red Mountain).

Elves have always been the traditional enemies of the Nords, from the time they were still the Atmoran settlers.

Now you have the Thalmor and all they do which pretty every race of men hates and even their own has factions strongly against them, hard not to hate the Thalmor and their parading Death/Inquisition Squads.

My character 'Harad' is a redguard who lost family against the thalmor as well as a lot of family wealth when the bosmer fell. He then feels that he should continue the fight against the thalmor, (from my reading the redguard fought longer than the rest of the empire).
However Harad feels no ill will in general against the mer as a whole, from actively befriending the dunmer in windhelm to fighting beside the imperial altmer in riften (I think it's riften), Harad has a healthy respect for the majority of mer.

That being said I have a sick collection of elven helmets and thalmor wizard gloves from is conquests!

It's not the elves as whole, it's the Thalmor.

I started my 'dark side' character recently, and made her a high elf. Just seemed like the best race for undermining skyrim and the empire! Dunmer were a close second, mind.

Also gives a good reason to join the stormcloaks - the aldmeri dominion would have an easier time taking down skyrim and the empire once the twain were seperated. Ulfric and co aren't to know that though!

The Dunmer are the best! Altmers are okay, except for the Thalmor. Bosmers are nice and friendly

Hold on...He makes morally corrupt choices for the greater good, and uses the dark arts too?
Is it HIS greater good we're talking about here? I'm Altmer as well, but I make it no secret that I enjoy destroying lives with my choices. If I could, I'd join the Thalmor of the Altmeri Dominion in a second. Most Nords are prejudice against anything that's not Nordic anyway, so they really can't point the finger at Elves and yell "Arrogant Racist", because they are too.

I hate the Altmer and Bosmer mainly for lore reasons... then again I hate almost all the other races besides the Dunmer... (but the Nords and Bretons have earned a special place in my heart )

Any elf. They have all pointy ears (well I like the orc though. I made a lair of myself) don't care what colour they are. Thanks to the bloody The Witcher game (I played it I played Oblivion). They all look down on you. They think they are all superior.

I admit, when I first started playing skyrim I was a nord. I was a nord for nearly all of my playthroughs, mainly because they're the most decent-looking race lol. After making playthrough after playthrough I started to get bored. I made a high elf character, but didn't keep it long because I was just doing quests and factions as usual -_- I've started a new high elf character and started RPing and it's so much fun! Granted most high elves you meet are arrogant, but that doesn't mean yours has to be  the history and lore surrounding them is pretty cool too.

Mine is a high elf who uses dark magic (for the greater good).. And often makes morally dark choices for the better. (the ends justify the means right?)

He worships Arkay, and Magnus (the god of magic), collects tomes of knowledge and things of magic.. And also gems and things of wealth.

He is in the theives guild/DB only for contacts.. And is becoming thane in all cities for 'friends in high places'.

He is also aspiring to become arch Mage too help in his pursuit of knowledge and power.. Eventually gaining enough of both to defeat the dragons and any other evil that threatens the mortal world.

One day before he dies, he will discover the secrets of Atherius (the plane of magic).

Seriously it's so much fun, don't hate elves guys! or you might just become a
Thrall..
It's just the lore for this game.
However, playing as a dunmer, I've had zero problems. A few wisecracks in windhelm, but nothing serious.

my High Elf, Erissa, hates the thalmor, and is rebellious. since the High Elves usually have strict customs, she defiea all those customs (sometimes on purpose, sometimes by accident. see next sentence for an accidentral example). She fell in love with, and married a Nord. by concidence, this would irritate the thalmor who was assigned to tracking her down. she also kills every thalmor she sees, and cuts an E into them. things like that.

Whoa! This is a close description that is similar to how I want to make my new mage.

I'm making an Altmer who uses dark magic for the good side. I'm also doing bad things and justifying it by saying it's for the greater good! I'll do the Daedric quests to get their magical items to stop them getting into the wrong hands and possibly study their power. I won't do the Thieves Guild as I don't focus on any stealth or warrior skills. I may join the Dark Brotherhood but that depends. I'm leaning away from it at the moment as I am undecided. My Altmer also worships Magnus as he's the God of Magic. I was hoping to follow the ways of the Psijic Order and possibly join them, but you cannot join them and I don't know enough about them to know their ways. I only know they follow the mystical "Old Ways" of Aldmeris, which I don't know enough about.

I love making good characters and this character is no different except he is also willing to do what some people can't to truly help on the good side. If a room is locked and the room is going to explode and kill 10 or more people inside but the enemy who is killing people is also escaping and you only have time to either save the innocent people or stop the enemy. You would stop the enemy and let the innocent people die. If you save the people, you may be a hero at first and all but the enemy has escaped and now he can kill even more people. It's better to sacrifice some lives and give them a purpose in their death rather than let the enemy kill many more innocent lives.

It would be pretty hard to play a Falmer..... Whole blank screen except for health/magicka/inventory/etc. could make the game very difficult.

The same reason why most racism happens haha: ignorance. I think Skyrim portrayed us in a bad light. It didnt bother me, because I follow TES lore closely so I know how cool elves, especially altmer, are, but many people were turned off by the altmeri dominion and the thalmor. I think if more people knew how badass, surreal, alien and bizaare elven culture was in this game they'd be their favourite races.
