I admit, when I first started playing skyrim I was a nord. I was a nord for nearly all of my playthroughs, mainly because they're the most decent-looking race lol. After making playthrough after playthrough I started to get bored. I made a high elf character, but didn't keep it long because I was just doing quests and factions as usual I've started a new high elf character and started RPing and it's so much fun! Granted most high elves you meet are arrogant, but that doesn't mean yours has to be the history and lore surrounding them is pretty cool too.

Mine is a high elf who uses dark magic (for the greater good).. And often makes morally dark choices for the better. (the ends justify the means right?)

He worships Arkay, and Magnus (the god of magic), collects tomes of knowledge and things of magic.. And also gems and things of wealth.

He is in the theives guild/DB only for contacts.. And is becoming thane in all cities for 'friends in high places'.

He is also aspiring to become arch Mage too help in his pursuit of knowledge and power.. Eventually gaining enough of both to defeat the dragons and any other evil that threatens the mortal world.

One day before he dies, he will discover the secrets of Atherius (the plane of magic).

Probably because of what the Thalmor did in the Great War.

I have nothing against the elves, personally, but the Thalmor are always fun to stab and dismember.

This is Skyrim, the nords have fought against the elves for generations now.

I hate the majority of elves myself.. The Thalmor give high elves a bad man, so they die.

I don't hate elves. I just carry Wuuthrad everywhere, because, well you know, for some odd reason, I do use it a lot;) lol

My 1st character was a Nord who went with the Stormcloaks, and my 2nd character is an altmer who sided with the empire. Can't get everything the game has to offer without playing it from both sides. Having said that, the Stormcloak Nord is definitely my preference.

J'derras doesn't hate elves, just the Thalmor. He likes Runil from Falkreath, despite his past. Also, the ends do not justify the means in the case of an objective alignment system like those found in D&D. As for subjective alignment, it's still shaky at best.

If I'm not playing Khajiit or Argonian, I'm usually Dunmer or Altmer. I've never actually played a Nord in Skyrim for some reason, which is funny given the setting. ^^

Indeed. They have fought many times with the Dunmer over the years and now the Thalmor almost destroyed the Empire they were a part off. Too make it better the Thalmor made it so Talos worship is illegal and drag people off for worshipping him.
Add in the Night of Tears where the Falmer almost genocided the nordic people who had settled there and it is understandable that Nords in general are not to happy with elves.

Admittedly, a lot of the non-Thalmor Elven NPC's you run into seem like an alright lot... but then you start reading some of the books scattered about (off topic - why do Bandit Chiefs generally have so much bedside reading), 'The Rising Threat' and etc., and you're all like "Why, those dirty pointy-eared bastards". At this point my char. has the entire downstairs bookshelf at Breezehome filled with anti-elf propaganda/readings... probably makes them a bit of a crank... in their defence the upstairs shelf is all 'Argonian Maid' and 'Yellow Book of Riddles' and such.

I don't hate elves per say, I'm an Orc so I tend to have a dislike for everyone except other Orc's But I will kill any and all Thalmor in my path, they should know better then to try and control an Orc especially Gorgun.

In all seriousness though, they DID kind of claim to stop the oblivion crisis. You know, the whole incident YOU stopped?

I don't dislike elves. I've played all the mer at sometime or other in Skyrim. I just don't like the Thalmor, because they're too realistic. And, at the moment, I don't have much choice about killing them. I told one group I was a Talos worshiper and killed them off and now every group of Thalmor on the road attack me on sight. They even have a note from their leader telling them it's OK....

Ya, I kill thalmor on principle, no matter what race I am playing... Although I do feel a little guilty when playing a high elf... I still do it.
Sometimes I get in trouble when in the cities but I can't control myself.

I got that too. It actually saves me the trouble finding them. And then I am kind enough to send them to whatever awaits them pointy ear ba$tards in the afterlife
