this thread's quality has gone through the roof
there is absolutely nothing wrong with using y/n i don't get why anybody would complain about that. you'd think they'd be happy more of their 108 keys were being used in a console game! it's not like y/n are that far out of the way, unless you've only got one hand or something.
the only problem with the interface in those windows is that there's no shortcuts for OK/cancel prompts.
Did you even read the whole thread? The problem is the inconsistency in the menu system. Yeah, there is nothing wrong using "Y" and "N", but why introduce two different keys for the same functions you have already on another two keys? Besides, you can reach "Tab" and "E" easier with your left hand, and these are the two keys one is using a lot navigating the menu to confirm and cancel different tasks. To make things even worse "Y" and "N" don't work in all dialog boxes, for example in dialog box for confirming a save overwrite, you have to use the mouse and click "Yes" to confirm the action.
Oh, BTW, you got your both hands I presume? Then maybe you want to use the little finger of your left hand to hold "Shift" at the start of your sentences to make the first letter of your first word capital or when you are using first person pronoun. And maybe put a full stop at the end of your sentences, so people can read what you are trying to write (does not really help in your case, though.)
Good day.
