Is horse speed going to be fixed?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:57 am

I would better hope they fix the spidercrawling abilities of the horses that can climb 90% inclination slopes ....

What a stupid feature...
Yeah it is kinda stupid, but the feature like that inspires some people to make something amazing.
Have you listen to this skyrim cover by "Lewis Fitzjohn"?? I love this cover, it's funny but seriously good quality!!! If you haven't listen to this you should!!!

P.S. you should check out the video too, it makes it more funny, though video version is undone track.

Just because the game engine "allows" such an obvious cheat doesn't mean you have to do it.

I never climb mountains with my horse, and always RP within a real horses' limitations. More fun that way.

I think the speed is just fine. Gamers these days (and people in general) are always impatient, and I think it's kinda silly. It shows in the sheer amount of people that fast travel or speed through the game's quests in the first two days of release.

Speed of horses is perfectly fine and I don't want them to change it. If they want to add some extra speed for Shadowmere and the horse in the DLC, so be it, but the mortal horses should stay the same.

Here's the fix http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15093

1: Not everybody plays on PC.
2: It isn't broken.

I hate people who pop in a thread and post a mod or suggest a mod, as if the entire player-base is on PC.

Umm.. I don't think it sounds like cowboy song, but I'm glad you liked it. It's bit off topic but he has brilliant Fallout 3 cover too, you can find it at the same website. You should see his video on this one definitely.

For the person who said the consoles can't handle it, are you joking right???
Do you know a power called "beast form"? It lets you transform in some sort of monster called "werewolf" and it lets you run faster than a horse, and when I run as a werewolf in the wilderness there is no lag, no fps drops nor any wrong. So.... yes this is sad but I think bethesda like the horses to run like that intentionally.

I play on PC and even I also think that its an excuse to say "There is a mod for that". So, what if Bethesda worked with that mentality? It world just be an excuse to dumb down the game anymore, because people can just mod it.

Mods are NOT supposed to fix the game, but to enhance it.

It will never be fixed and heres why, because consoles can't handle it. They had to make them slower because the maps couldn't keep up with the streaming, hell they can't even handle current horse speeds, anyone whos tried to gallop from one town to another knows... you hit the lag and stuttering so bad you have to stop and wait for the loading to catch up...
I have not noticed it. I use a mod that prevents the horse getting tired at a full gallop and so I can get to where I want with ease at full gallop all the way. I can't say I have had a problem with loading lag. Maybe you ought to invest in a faster hard drive, seems like your 1980's hard disk can't cope any more.

How does wanting a horse that can move faster show any of that? Did you just type the most random irrelevant thing you can think of?

This doesn't make sense. I've seen the same lag happen when I'm walking. I believe this is more akin to the environment to be rendered than speed of the character. I'm on the 360, and I'll get a brief lag, but stuttering? Not seen that at all (my console's horizontal, not vertical, which causes freezing).

AC did it just fine with its horses (and they never tire), so you'll pardon me when I don't accept this theory.

Are the horses slower or faster than they were in Oblivion? The black horse in Oblivion was insanely fast!

Their walk is lots faster their trot slower and of course they have a sprint.

That being said the horse speed works great for me . The walk is faster than a human and their trot gets you there faster than a run but not so fast that it shrinks the world too much.
