can you be in the dawngard and still be a vamp?

Probably. I mean, you can be an imperial soldier and join the dark brotherhood, when it makes no sense in the DB storyline

Well you can force it to make sense.

Make it so your character makes a choice..either serve Sithis and the Night mother like you swore or stay true to his/her oath.

Yeah, but that is forcing it.

I don't recall Hassildor being particularly anti-vampire. Sure, he sends you on an errand to kill some vampires, but not because they were vampires. It was because they were stupid. Because they are stupid, they're drawing the unwanted attention of vampire hunters and he is worried about being found out. So, he sends you to kill the vampires so that the vampire hunters will go away, keeping his secret safe.

Sybille Stentor
is the same way she's a vampire but sends you to kill other vampires. Some vampires appear to be social creatures gathering together in groups but others appear to ascribe to the philosophy there can be only one.

But with Hasildor, it had nothing to do with "there can be only one." It was about, "I'm a vampire and I don't want those vampires hunters finding out. Get rid of them." Which you do by killing the vampires that the hunters are after.

True, but i remember his opinion towards Vampires in general being quite negative, i believe he said "They have given in to their instincts, and are little more than animals. They need to be exterminated, one way or another."

He was talking about the vampires that were causing problems outside his city and he wanted them killed so the vampire hunters there that followed the band of vampires wouldn't find him out.

Just for the record, vaen.

Yes, that specific group. Not vampires in general. That specific group was attacking people recklessly and that is what drew the attention of the vampire hunters. The hunters weren't going to leave as long as those vampires remained.
