Custom meshes into Skyrim...

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 4:24 pm

Hi!

There is a lot of meshes in 3ds format which were made in 3DSmax, obviously. Only static meshes with static (non-havok) collisions.
I want them into Skyrim. How should I do it?
I tried with Nifskope (as usual for Oblivion) but CK won't load them as I expected.

Any help or suggestions are heavily welcomed at this stage, since I have no any experience in creating asset for Skyrim.

I did this with my rockinghorse resource. I first loaded the *.3ds file in Blender and exported it then as an *.obj file. (Im- and Export is the only thing I can do in blender :D).
The *.obj file now you can import via Nifskope as it is described here:

Too bad. I think I'll give up. Today I realized that GMax CAN'T export to 3ds, only into some weird format called plasma. I expected that Gmax can export 3ds models... Even too bad that normal 3DSMax also can't reag GMax'es... I wish to undertake that bastard who removed 3ds export from GMax... Anyway, thanks for guidance:)
