Dawnguard seems kinda lame to me.

-.- The prisoner was put onto Vvardenfell by order of the emperor himself for secret reasons, so Helseth got paranoid and sent assassins after him fearing that the prisoner was meant to be a spy or something, even if you do beat the MQ Helseth doesn't comment on the Nerevarine being the Nerevarine.
Then explain the immortal God being mortal (and yes, I know Vivec isn't actually immortal in-game, but lore-wise they are supposed to be.)
A lot of Almalexias dialogue takes into account the Nerevarine as well.

Even so it takes into account the world of Morrowind a lot more than Solstheim or the Shivering Isles do (which tried, succesfully, to convey a world of their own)

Almalexia wasn't mortal if you do it before Morrowind's MQ but she was insane, which is not surprising because all of their powers were waning ever since Dagoth Ur's resurrection and since Alma was so use to her power that she didn't know how to live without it which threw her further into the brink of insanity, the reason it didn't effect Vivec in this way was because Vivec achieved CHIM so he could coup with the lose of his powers as for Sotha Sil he just shut himself away.

Spoiler
as for killing her its because Trueflame was a sword so powerful that it could destroy a god, this isn't the first weapon in the TES series that has this power.

I thought you still had to kill her to finish the tribunal questline? and Alma did kill Sotha.

well, none of the other tes games had cliff hangers that were this bad. Can't deny that at least.

I didn't read wrong lol, but perhaps the article wasn't credible. Either way, this dlc feels out of place to me.
Well this is Skyrim, not any other Tes game, this is the most recent TES game. Dawnguard is the only DLC so far, don't like the sound of it, don't buy it, there are people here trying to suade, telling you not to listen o reviews or people that rushed though it, and you're disregarding their post and still whining, just don't buy it, for now make up your own little conclusion, or simply start a new game, I tell you I've still not finished Dawnguard, not that I've sat on it all day, I've just played other games, but I've spent a large amount on DG, it's a good DLC, it adds alot to the game.

Maybe this discussion belongs in the Dawnguard board, not in the Skyrim board?

Everyone is going to have their own opinion about the DLC. You have to make up your own mind. I would find the list of content and decide from their. Most of the content is useless for my playstyle, but I bought it anyway and I am playing through. I'm haveing fun. I may or may not play a VL, I have the character picked out, but I may not do it. I haven't ever played a vampire or werewolf, it really never interested me. I will give it a try because it's their, if I decide I don't like it OH well... not the reason I decided to get the DLC anyway, had more to do with the armor and a new questline to play through.

It isn't eight hours long -.- don't listen to BS rumors and it adds plenty to the game.

And MQ is 738 hours long, not 8.

Certainly, but I would have figured anyone looking for a discussion on Dawnguard would have a much easier time finding it on it's respective forum.

I'm on the pc so I haven't played it. I've read about it though, that it's about vampires and vampire hunters, and that it's roughly 8'sh hours long for each faction playthrough.

Problem I'm having with this is that... I wanted some conclusion regarding this Thalmor thing and the empire along with the stormcloak thing. Feels very unfinished, especially after I wiped out all the remaining rebelling stormcloak camps. It just kinda hangs there.

Also, what is the deal with paarthurnax, if you don't kill him nothing changes regarding dragons attacking and nothing changes in the quest log, you can still kill him at any time even though you tell the greybeards you wont kill him. Seems kinda unfinished and I don't really like how dawnguard doesn't reflect on either of these two looming problems.

I remember reading that bethesda's dev's wanted dlc's to be meaty but... I don't think anyone saw a vampire dlc coming. Seems like a hail marry out in left field if you ask me. Why not just do en expansion pack? Why'd we wait 7+ months for an 8 hour long dlc that has nothing to do with anything.
You haven't played it yet. Don't be so quick to judge.
