Does anyone actually walk?

I don't see the problem with the inclusion of fast travel, it's not forcing you to use it and I never do use it because I feel it breaks immersion. I think it's right it's been included for gamers who would like to use it, after all more money means better quality games doesn't it ? doesn't it ???? Maybe not...

That does make sense, if it gets more people to play and therefore makes the god of the universe Todd Howard work faster on another game who really cares.

I walk inside buildings and when I'm in town. It feels stupid running up and down the streets, like a child ;)
When I travel I run, or, rather, I try to jog. Sometimes I slow down to a fast walk, but frankly it just takes too long to walk everywhere. I don't have that much time to play, and if I'm heading from Point A to Point B, I like to get there before it's too late and I'm about to go to bed.

I rarely fast travel, really only when my followers get lost or something like that. I sometimes use carriages.

I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and sometimes an apple as a snack in between (especially after a fight). I even try to take a short break to eat when I'm in dungeons, since they tend to take several hours in-game. And I sleep every night, at least a few hours.

When my character is stronger I will eventually time how long it takes to walk from Solitude to Riften.

This will be a day to remember. And a day where I have absolutely nothing to do.

I think you will be surprised. I was the first time I made the trip. Now I've done it so many times I don't even think about it.

I try to walk in settlements unless all freak is breaking loose. I run on the roads.

I have used walking at times, like if I am going around traps or if I'm running too fast while following someone (or leading someone). I have walked from Riverwood to Whiterun before. But I'll be honest, it just kills me. While I agree it doesn't make sense that you run all the time, if you play in 1st person you really don't realize it.

My characters walk when it is appropriate to them and they run when it is appropriate to them.

I rarely fast travel, I try to walk (run?) everywhere. Actually *walking*? As much as I like immersion it's just way too slow.

me too and also I never use horses -- if I do, I have to stop every few feet to mine or pick flowers -- I should try horse combat sometime

Only when overencumbered. And even then, whirlwind sprint. Walking is a waste of time.

I just remembered that in Morrowind, your stamina would slowly decrease if you were running. It would then regenerate if you slowed to a walk. I think this is part of the reason Morrowind felt so big, it seemed to take forever to get from just Seyda Neen to Balmora to Vivec if you were walking instead of riding the Silt Striders. That system was actually probably the most realistic (losing stamina the longer you run and regaining it by slowing to a walk) but I don't think many people would be happy if Bethesda had kept that in Oblivion or Skyrim.

I try to walk and take of my helmet when inside a town.
When travelling I go by horse, if i don't have a horse I'll just sprint.

I also take my helmet off and gauntlets also when inside a town or even close by. I don't even let my guy change clothes from armor to clothes unless he is out of eyesight for other people. (That may be taking things a bit too far)

I try sometimes. Only if I'm in a building or something.

Walking everywhere is too much of a pain to do constantly.
