Gods that is the most annoying thing. Besides every bear/wolf/sabercat that likes to sleep on the [censored] road. Skyrim needs less forced combat encounters when on the roads. Or more patrols. Keep that [censored] in the wilds.

Ugh, I'm so sick of those bloody assassins! One of my characters in particular is as law-abiding as they come, making it a point to never attack anyone who hasn't attacked her first (unless they're some kind of undead thing, because, really, screw skeletons), and yet she's still had about four or five DB attempts on her life. The only non-hostile NPCs she kills are those Thalmor Justiciars you see escorting prisoners down roads, and even then she's careful to drag the bodies off into the woods or dump them in the nearest river. Who's gonna tell on her - the prisoner?
As for the whole overreaction to stealing issue, I wish there was a dialogue option for returning a 'borrowed' item. Just a simple line like, "Sorry, I accidentally picked this up," to which the NPC would reply with something like, "That's fine, thanks for returning it," or a surly, "Just watch where you put your hands next time."

I was trying to move a plate in the Markarth Dibella temple (cause I was trying to put my alto wine bottle there). I guess it wasn't in the goddess's favor since the priestess had Hired Thugs right outside the door, then sometime later I got a DB assassin for taking back my alto wine.

I didn't think it was possible once you become the Listener...that traitorous swine.

Dibella gave my Daggerfall Khajiits many wonderful naked women, and now she hires thugs? I don't think those temples in Daggerfall are worth it for any perverted characters. I'm sticking to taverns now.

I was in Solitude and was a few hundred gold short of buying a horse, which I needed for my travels since I never fast travel. I found Hjorunn at the lumber mill and he offered to give me gold if I would bring him some wood so I took him up on his offer. But I did not have a woodcutter's axe. I looked around and eventually found one in the mill. Of course it was considered stealing when I took it, but I was going to drop it back down after I used it. Kind of like borrowing something I suppose. So I use the axe, chop the wood, get paid and return the axe where I found it. I then bought my horse and I was on my merry way to the College of Winterhold. After getting admitted to the college and doing a quest I found myself confronted by a trio of hired thugs. I quickly dismantled them and then looted their bodies. Much to my surprise they had a contract to harm and possibly kill me from Hjorunn.

My bad man, I didn't know borrowing your axe to do what you asked me would make you so angry. We could have talked about this, really.

nice story .... i ended up killing somebody who liked me though and so far have had six inheritance letters as a result....so unless you like couriers forcefully shoving letters into your hands dont bother.....honestly
