Sorry, I didn't know you would be so upset.

I was in Solitude and was a few hundred gold short of buying a horse, which I needed for my travels since I never fast travel. I found Hjorunn at the lumber mill and he offered to give me gold if I would bring him some wood so I took him up on his offer. But I did not have a woodcutter's axe. I looked around and eventually found one in the mill. Of course it was considered stealing when I took it, but I was going to drop it back down after I used it. Kind of like borrowing something I suppose. So I use the axe, chop the wood, get paid and return the axe where I found it. I then bought my horse and I was on my merry way to the College of Winterhold. After getting admitted to the college and doing a quest I found myself confronted by a trio of hired thugs. I quickly dismantled them and then looted their bodies. Much to my surprise they had a contract to harm and possibly kill me from Hjorunn.

My bad man, I didn't know borrowing your axe to do what you asked me would make you so angry. We could have talked about this, really.

I remember in Fallout 3, I took some guy's pencil by mistake, and the whole town opened fire on me. Even dropping the pencil didn't stop the barrage of bullets and mini nukes. I had no choice but to waste the entire settlement of Rivet City.

You gotta love Bethesda games!

There's probably some grand story centered around that axe knowing the nords.

THAT WOODCUTTERS AXE WAS MY GRANDFATHER'S GRANDFATHER'S GRANDFATHER'S AXE. HE CUT DOWN 1000 FALMER WITH IT, AS WELL AS THE WOOD TO BUILD THIS MILL AND HOUSE! THROUGHOUT THE YEARS MY FAMILY HAS USED IT TO FEND OFF BEARS, WOLVES, AND DRAGONS! HOW DARE YOU DEFILE IT BY TOUCHING IT!

Well, that's the beauty of role-playing. My story for him goes, well, um, he's just plain insane. That's it.

I am playing a dunmer spell sword, While generally being polite to everyone I am enjoying the random quests for the dunmers.

While hanging out in the new gnisis corner club I spotted a book I wanted to read.

Accidentally clicked on a 1 gold piece tankard, I put it back, read the book, bought food and left.

3 days later at solitudes gates I was jumped by 4 toughs with a letter from the dunmer who owns the corner club.

Counting the 500 gold in coin along with all their steel armor and weapons, I cleared over 1000 gold!

Since all the toughs were nords I roleplayed that he sent me a quartet of racists to "take care of".

(Gagnon "steals" axe)

(Rabbit reports you. 15 gold bounty)

(Imperial Guard teleports in front of Gagnon)

Guard: STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!

Gagnon: Wait, what?

Guard: YOU VIOLATED THE LAW

Gagnon: You mean taking this axe? I was told to! And how the hell did you even know?!

Guard: Pay up or be jailed.

Gagnon: This is stupid. I didn't break any laws you mindreading legalist.

Guard: THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!!!

It was his Pa's Axe, how could you. The only time those thugs attacked me were when a Petiulus Oculatus agent sent them after me. Maybe he disagreed to me killing the gourmet, fake emperor and true emperor.

My favorite is when a child sends them after you. Those 8 year old Nords don't mess around when you steam their Honey Nut Treats.

Reminds me of my run-in with thugs. Stole the Dibella Statue from the temple in Markarth. Was confronted by the priestesses, gave it back, and was assigned a quest as penance. While on that quest (just as I was exiting the quest locale, with the NPC I rescued) I was jumped by three thugs, apparently hired by the same Priestess who sent me off on the quest...... whoops!
