I want to be able to learn how to build Dwemer style buildings. After I learned, I would go back down to Black Reach, and dig out some of the buried buildings, and repair the damaged structures. That would be after I cleared out all the Falmor, and their followers. Once done with both, I would start turning it into the best city ever. However, I would not allow for too much lighting in there as it would ruin the view. Its not so pretty when it lights up like a light bulb. I know this due to sometimes the lighting in Black Reach sometimes glitches and the whole place lights up. Its much prettier dark. Black Reach is my most favorite place in all of Skyrim. And I would love to run that city. Having NPC's and their pets, guards, and live stock. And all the Dwemer ruins around it would also get fixed since allot of them are connected to Black Reach. :)

I'd build around the Rift,i just love the autumn-like appearance

Same here. forget all the stuff you get. Let me build a single room cabin in the Rift with a basemant. Let me out a large bed in one part of the room with a dresser and 1 mannequin. Let me have a large fire place with a kitchen table. I'll be SOO content.

Second choice would be a home I could build in Riverwood.

I'd probably build my house on or around Nilhiem, overlooking the Eastmarch basin.

Two locations come to mind:

1. Tower of Mzark. It wouldn't take much to make it livable, since it already has some amenities. Allows for easy access to Blackreach and central Skyrim. Heljarchen Hall is pretty close by to it, but getting it without doing the CW in favor of the Imperials is a real pain in the butt, thanks to Skald.

2. Riften, southern bank of Lake Honrich, near the Snow-Shod Farm. or thereabouts.

Just outside Riverwood, along the road to Whiterun. Or outside Ivarstead, on one of the little islands in the lake.

Or I could just skip the building thing and move to Dragonsreach. That would suffice. :P

The islands of Goldenglow Estate would also make a sweet spot. Just destroy the building and build something else.

I dont like the current locations of the homes.

I would build a houes over near the orc stronghold over looking the mountains by Markarth. There is plenty of space for that kind of house so why cant I build one there?

That's what I was thinking too, raze Goldenglow and really rebuild! Or, on top of the ridge overlooking Riften and the lake. Or, where the Stormcloak/Imperial camp is by Whiterun, kinda up from the meadery and close to the river falls and rapids. I could sit out on the balcony at nght and watch the fireworks on the road across the river from Battleborn farm....

High and snowy with a look-out that lets me see far and wide. It would preferably be a stone walled creation with an armory, kitchen, bedrooms, and library. Outside I'd want an actual working stable for my horses to stay in and a forge in the side of the mountain with all the trimmings, skyforge won't have anything on me. Like Battlehorn with more of a warrior's hand in the building. Snow Sabre Cats that guard it and can freely enter and exit, and if the mood strikes that I can ride and storm down the mountain into battle with inferior beings that I choose to annihilate with Storm Call heralding my charge into the fray.

That kind of epic scene I won't get to see, but more locations and rooms to add besides 3 would be nice.

Just get Tundra Defence mod, and just do it anywhere you want! Plus a lot more.

I would build a house atop the Throat of the World. There's nothing grander than standing atop the mountain looking down at Skyrim.

Another house would be near Riften, between Fort Greenwall and the stables, with Shor's Stone in view, since it'll be across the road.

Despite the love for houses, I'm going to be frank: I'd love to be able to pitch my own tent anywhere I want, like the Khajiits have. This way, I can rest anywhere, eat the local vegetation and occasional fast food (usually deer, which can be too fast sometimes), and when I tire of the view, head somewhere else.

A tent. The most primitive of housing every TES game fails to provide. ;)
