will random vampire attacks stop when you complete the MQ on : V - Skyrim

I had no attack's in cities while doing the MQ, but alot of attack's "out in the wild". When I finished the MQ and went and did other things for a bit, the attack's slowed way down, when i went and did some of the side quests the attacks in the wilds started back at the same rate as before. But still no attacks in cities. Lucky I guess.
