I know you may think you're typing words and a coherent argument yet all I see is tears in the form of letters.
Yep, it's tears. Even as an option it completely ruins the game and makes me fear for Fallout 4. Oh well. Day 1 you-know-what.

I mean..I am not in favor of using a lot of things. However, I will defend to the death the right to have it in play. No matter my approval of the implemented feature. As one can always ...not.

Well, this didn't take long. I'd rather it not be in but "Urmahgerd it ruinz dah games" Is a ridiculous statement. Have some self control. If you want to live with your choices, then don't use it. At least the way it is implemented makes perfect sense.

It may be optional, but it is still very much against basic RPGing IMO.

Skyrim already breaks so many rules in this regard anyway so I suppose it shouldn't matter. Even Todd said before the game came out that there is a 'soft cap' on the levels at around level 50 but that you could go to level 81. Well I do role-play and I have yet to get a character to level 50. They are all retired by level 45ish. Why? Because I can't justify my warrior maxing out all the Magic skills for no apparent reason, or my Rogue maxing out his Two-Handed skill, etc. Just maxing out all skills, just to do it, is against any reasonable role-play that I can come up with. However Todd's added achievements and dragon types that don't appear until your level 70+. Why would he do this if he himself knows the soft cap is at level 50? Because he is catering to the NON-role-players. Again, makes no sense in a supposed RPG but oh well...

Horses for courses people, keep it in your trousers. The beauty of this game is that everyone can play it in their own way.

Perk reset? Sweet, I won't use it doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

Exactly! I won't be using the perk re-spec, but I'm not going to QQ about it, as it's just an option.

Yes people over-reacted. The very fact that it's optional means that those who adamantly, full on didn't want anyone to have the option means they were over-reacting and I bet they wouldn't think the same way if it were something they wanted.

I don't have to use it, but the fact that Bethesda was willing to actually implement it pisses me off. It's obvious catering to the power-gaming crowd who want to play around and do everything. Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against power-gaming and exploits, I've been guilty of doing it, but when the game actually helps me do it... well, that's a different matter.

TES is an RPG series. Fallout is a mostly RPG series. Perk and stat re-spec is un RPG. Of course, in the end it's the story that interests me, but knowing current Bethesda, I probably won't ever get a good story in the core game.

But anyhow no one answered my true question. Is the story and writing good in this DLC? Also, how long is the MQ? Longer or shorter than the core game MQ? How about the side quests and companions?
