Remove black books from inventory?

It'd be great if you were able to store quest items at some sort of special chest at home. It'd make things so much simpler, taking into account the number of bugged items I'm carrying around after completing much of the game on a character.

Christ, quest items don't weigh anything!
That's funny I had a quest to deliver a mead barrel that weighed 20

Items marked as quest-related that are in your inventory weigh nothing, regardless of what they state otherwise.

Sell them to the orc librarian at Winterhold mage college.
Can't. Dialogue won't come up. I wish there was a way to wear them. If the damn things won't leave my inventory at least let me wear them like Serana could.

Seems to be mixed opinons on this, Il have to check to see if they actually weigh something (Drop everything but them) despite what the display says.

VideoGameMage I know what you mean about the ES in your inventory Ive done the whole of DB packing all three for a total of 60 weight stopped Dwnguard halfway through to do DB have you completed the main games Main quest? im not sure if the optio to sell them comes up untill after that

I have already completed the main quest and tried to sell the scrolls. No sell. I mean if they are stuck in my inventory at least let me wear them. I think an elder scroll would look pretty badass on my character's back.

According to the UESP page on Skyrim's Elder Scrolls:

After the Dawnguard questline, if you've sided with the Dawnguard faction, you can sell the Sun and Blood scrolls to Dexion. If you sided with the vampires, you can never remove the scrolls from your inventory.

In your inventory, the indicidual items will still list a "weight". However, there is no change in your "weight carried" number when compared to your "possible carry weight" based on your Stamina score.

In short: Even though the items list that they have weight, they actually weigh nothing.

You know, perhaps we should petition Bethesda to make quest items display 0 as the weight for quest items so we can stop having to post this so many times. Typically, quest items are only in your inventory for the quest unless you screw something up like picking it up before you're suppose to.

I'm just glad Bethesda fixed so the Bard's College peeps took back their named instruments. Don't know why, but those irritated me more than scrolls or black books ever did. :)

It weighs nothing and it's kept in your inventory because they're possibly the most important single items in the game at this point, and losing it would really svck. So you're forced to keep it so you can't mess up and lose it. If they let players move it, you'd see a forum full of people raging that they lost it and now they can't use it.
I think the real point here is that it's a ridiculous concept to be forced to carry around items like this; especially when the quest is over, you don't need it anymore. All it does is invite more bugs where the items are permanently stuck on you. Morrowind made you responsible for your quest items, I don't see what's so wrong with that concept. You lose it, it's your own fault.

I don't really mind them being in my inventory, it gives me quick access to them if I wish to change out a "power," but I also think they would look pretty bad ass line up next to each other on my bookshelf with the Oghma Infinium.

I'd feel a whole lot better about lugging them around if there were a category in my inventory marked "Quest Items" where all the quest things go (Meridia's Beacon, Mehrune's razor bits, etc.). Then I wouldn't have to look at them when sorting through my other books.

And why can't we tell the inventory to "sort by damage" on Kinnect?

And why can't the game tell me why I have to pay 1000 and to whom for what crime? Sometimes I really really don't know who I murdered! (Sorry, off topic)

And why, oh why oh why can't all the containers just list everything to me alphabetically.
