Alright Bethesda, this is getting insane...

No need to worry about that, because that's exactly what will happen. If a patch repairs corrupted files then I will eat my FONV disc.

I'll mail you my disc and you can eat it also. I don't wanna even see that $65 coaster anymore.

Meh, could go either way really. The game could be reading the information wrong, which makes it corrupt in the games eyes, that could be fixed. But if information was actually erased due to a scripting error of some sort, yeah, those files are gone.

Heck yes they should fix ALL the bugs before they even think about making any DLC. You don't release a game with this many bugs in it and think just one patch will fix it, and from what I've been reading the patch causes as many problems as it fixes. Not cool Bethesda, you really dropped the ball on this one. Quit acting like Walmart and thinking of only dollar signs.

If they release DLC before releasing a patch to fix all these errors I a going to get extremely mad. Fortunately I haven't had anything as large as this but I have encountered enough issues to be annoyed that they didn't bug test better.

Gears of War has been pushed back due to bugs (not that they will openly admit that) so Obsidian could have too. Of course then they'd miss out on the gullible fans buying it because they love the series and Christmas is coming up...

Seriously Obsidian/Bethesda, you make great games, but you are taking the piss with this one.

Just like it's not fair that some people have to wait for a patch to play their game because of bugs, it's not fair for those without these issues to have to wait for DLC because a minority of players are experiencing said bugs. Besides, it's not like the team working on the patch are spending half the day on bugs and the other half on DLC. There's more than one team working on these things.

I've seen pics and vids on youtube in which the save file actually says "corrupted" when you are about to load it.

Mine doesn't say that. I still get the DLC load glitch. Odd. And it won't load. But the save isn't corrupted.

I am so sick of companies selling products that don't work and/or are faulty. As far as Bethesda, I have full confidence that they will eventually fix this in a way that makes the game playable. However, the fact that any big budget game software release having this many bugs that effect the gameplay or in my case, ruin it, is simply unacceptable. I have dropped 30+ hours into the game at this point and now all save files are unloadable. Honestly, I pulled out the game and put in Madden and called gamestop to see what I could get for trade-in value for the game. I LOVE fallout, but this game is no good to me if it doesn't work. I don't have a lot of money, and the fact that I payed $60 for this and invested so much time into an experience that is now ruined unless they are able to recover my apparently corrupted save files, well frankly it really pisses me off. Odds are, in reality, I won't trade this game in, because one day I will want to start over again. I DO believe though that Obsidian and Bethesda owe it to throngs of loyal Fallout fans that shelled out the cash to buy this game to provide AT LEAST one or two of the DLC packages for free. Because, in all honesty, if they don't show me as a consumer that they care about the fact that I spent my hard earned money on their product, then I will certainly hesitate and very possibly reconsider purchasing the next Fallout or Elder Scrolls games, and I have to believe I'm not alone in that thought. You guys cannot afford economically to have weak launches with all the A-list titles coming out nowadays...

OK, these are the same kind of problems that Fallout 3 had. Fallout NV is using the same engine as Fallout 3 did and these problems were never fixed in Fallout 3. In fact, they got worse as more DLC was added.

What they don't seem to be able to understand is that there are "memory leaks" in the core engine. I know that is the problem because I have Fallout 3 on 3 different platforms and they all have the same issues. Also, I have been a programmer for 30 years so I know a thing or two about programming. What they need to do is to hire some programmers that know what they are doing and not the cheapest ones they can find in some third world country.

One of the things that helped in Fallout 3 was to not have very many saves, only 2 or 3 at most. That helped me get through the 360 version of the game and it was the only way I could complete the PS3 version.

Face it, they are not going to make any more money off of fixing these problems. The only way they are going to make more money is to develop new DLC, so that is where they are going to commit their time and resources. They know that we Gamers are gullible and will keep giving them our money in the foolish hope that they will fix the problems.

yeah! you tell them! i got yo back, son!! :celebration: lol. but seriously, i agree. I also think the reason they are keeping kinda silent about the release of the next patch is becuase the release time is possbably in the weeks or 1 month range and they know we would be pissed so they rather keep it a mystery....

For those who are worried about their corrupt saves will not go back to normal be assured in the past some games have been able to play after a patch. I am quite surprised that nobody has played Dragon Age Origin and had the same thing happen to them their problem was selling to many items to one merchant forcing the item limit to break. well 9 months later they fixed it; im not saying that FNV has the same problem but as long as it doesnt say corrupt on your hard drive in the 360 menu it is possible to bring it back alive.

and to land of the dead we get it you dont care why harrass us for having a discussion? I understand that it is more than likely that dlc will come out before the fix it happened with DAO. Lets just take things more calmly we are all trying to work together we are a community after all.
