Clear Obstructions

I am having some issues with the environment taking p more room than it displays. What i mean is i can be standing by a rock and have a clear shot at the target but i wont hit it. I first noticed it when attacking the Powder gangers and was using the iron sights. Its almost like there is a clear model around the objects that the bullets hit. I can move over more into the clear and will get hits.

Anyone else having this problem? I love the irons but not knowing if im far enough in the open is a pain.

There's a lot of places like that - it's a limitation of the game engine combined with the physics engine. I don't hold much hope for it getting better until they move to a more shooter-friendly engine.

My biggest issue so far was the schoolhouse in Goodsprings. Shooting at the critters inside was a nightmare due to the collision meshes on the desks and overturned chairs. I'd queue up 3 shots in VATS, have a clear view of the target, only to see all 3 shots bounce off of invisible walls that surround the models. So rather then waste VATS points, I tend to use the iron sights more often unless the enemy is one of those hyped-up-on-sugar types that dances around like a kid who needs to take a whiz.

Outside VATS bullets exit the camera/your face. Inside VATS they exit your torso, so much lower. It;s [censored] but been this way since Fo3.
