Able to heal damaged robots in NV?

I don't mean killed robots, I mean those that are damaged. They don't use stimpacks like humans, so is there a way to heal/repair them?

You'll need high Repair, Science or both, then it's all good.

I think you should be able to repair/heal robots, especially if there's followers like that.

Would be kinda cool if you could do something like in O:A, for example bring a friendly Sentry Bot with you into battle, but this time be able to repair it seeing as its health doesn't restore by itself.
Naturally, the effects of an attempted repair should vary depending on your current Repair skill, the lower the skill, the bigger the risk of turning the robot hostile, or even destroy it.

Yeah and maybe you need scrap metal instead of stimpacks? Pretty dumb how Sergeant RL-3 uses stimpacks.

In my opinion this would make a pretty decent addition to the game, although maybe to stop an endless flow of replenishable followers, they should limit the number of robots you can get from every town to X amounts.
Sadly it seems a bit late to add something like this now though, with a mere 2 months away from release... but you never know, I suppose!

Should only need repair skills and scrap metal. Tool kit would be good. Stimpacks to fix robots? That's just so :banghead: :swear: stupid...

I like the idea. I think it'd be interesting if we could use repair kits to repair our robot companion(s). I think a high repair skill would just be too simple. Scrap metal might be an interesting way to help it, and then your repair skill will determine how much health the metal repairs of the robot(s). Perhaps scrap metal could even be the equivalent of "food" to robots (not quite like in hardcoe mode it's required they have it, but that it would repair some health, but nowhere near the level of a stimpak, or in this case a repair kit).

I love playing scientist type characters so it always svcked that I couldn't do anything with robots.

I'd like to not only repair robots but with a high enough science skill and maybe perception reprogram them to be my ally or even rebuild "dead" robots and make them like new again.

But if you'r science or whatever isnt hight enough the rebuilt or reprogramed robot goes ape [censored] and tries to kill you or anyone nearby. Also it would be cool if you had a high enough skill you could build new robots from scratch like with the custom weapons on the work bench.

Hm create your own robot from scratch and you can choose which parts and function. Would be nice.

I have to agree there. If there is a robot companion in the game, I would not object to being able to heal the robot using scrap metal, with the effectiveness based on repair skill, or robots could use some alternate thing to repair them, like repair kits. Aside from that, other potential applications of repairing robots I could see would be if you can occassionally find robots that are damaged, but not beyond repair, in the environment, you could repair them and allow them to continue functioning, and after that, they could behave somewhat like the robots that you could activate in Fallout 3. If Obsidian wanted to make repair skill have a greater effect on this than just whether you can repair the robot, it could also have other effects, maybe there could be a chance that you'd fail and ruin the robot, or still succeed but have it function at reduced efficiency (Represented by reduced stats.) or something, if you needed to actually reprogram the robot, I'd think that would fall under science more than repair.

Maybe Repair Kits? I'd like to have a robot as my non humanoid and Marcus as my humanoid companion. That would be very nice.

In Fallout 2, you just tell Skynet to automatically repair himself. I forgot how it was with Robodog and K-9, it was probably the same way.

Sounds good.
