Is there a way to rebind 2? Doing so seems to have no effect

I want to use 2 for a weapon and something else to switch ammo types. Is there anyway to do this? The game seems to ignore that I've changed the key and won't let me make 2 a hotkey for any weapons.

It is kind of stupid that they let you remap the change ammo key, but it doesn't free up the 2 key for binding it to a hotkey like Fallout 3.

I hope they fix this, I had a nice system going with Fallout 3. I used 1 for melee weapons, 2 for pistol, 3 for close range weapon (i.e. shotgun), 4 was for medium range (assault rifle), 5 was for grenades and 6 was for long range. Hotkeys 7 and 8 I changed depending on what type of situation I was expecting to get into. Most of the time I had mines on 7 and some type of special weapon on 8.

Same issue here. I'm happy to report that this is the only real issue I've had so far (Well, I'd also like the camera to zoom out a little more in third-person mode). The "2 key binding" issue should be a quick fix, and hopefully it arrives in a quick patch.

You can bind 2 to another key with AutoHotKey, but that won't let you use it for a quick slot.

I had changed the ammo switch key to Q, and when I realized that I couldn't use 2 for a quick slot, it would not let me bind 2 to anything else, so I had to restore the default controls and set up from scratch again. I'm so used to two being my pistol slow that I keep pressing 2 to switch to my pistol, but instead end up changing ammo on my current, gun if I have any.
