what else is there to do?

So it is an open world action fps, and all the descriptions I read about this game have that as one of the main points. But if you payed full price for games like Mafia II, who also touted the fact that it was a open world you can understand the possible pitfall in advertising a game in that way(I had horrible buyer regret after buying Maffia 2 at release, it was a great story but there was nothing else to the game). I haven't seen any vids or any articles that discussed this in any way, I was just wondering if there are thoughts as to what the non-MQ portion of the game will be like. It mentions side-quests but really, most games have side-quests as minor portions of the show, minus games like Fallout and Mass Effect. Being that bethesda is far and away the king of quest based games (bioware a close second), can we expect to see a game with similar content?

Thoughts? Hopes? Requests?

So far all that I've heard is that the Game is heavy on MQ, and light on the SQ, but with Bethesda at the Controls I would bet money that it'll be worth your while. But as the man said here ''The Game is OPEN BUT Directed'' (around 4:10)

So probably some side missions, but still the game dosn't come out for a while. So we shall see....

You can just play co-op with another player and explore the wasteland. From what we know, that's the only thing that would add replay value.

I'm sorry but I honestly can't understand the second part of your comment.

If exploring is meaningful, rewarding and have enough content to it to make me not feel like I blew money away; then that is a perfect way to bulk up content to a game.

I'm curious how they intend to spice up co-op to make it different than solo, maybe harder enemies or simply more of them.

I forgot to include killing enemies that appear while exploring the wasteland.I doubt it's rewarding unless there are some secret missions and/or more to the upgrade system than we assume...which I highly doubt. If you're trying to make a decision on whether to buy it or not,I would recommend waiting until it's cheaper and possibly equal to what you expected.

What is funny is that I decided to buy the game maybe thirty seconds after reading the first couple of previews; Id seems to be wanting to make its grand comeback with this, and being that release is months away and really we have only been teased with info, this is certainly shaping up to be quite the game, not to mention the fact that there would be appear to be quite a bit of polish on the game already, lets just hope it is more than a pretty tech demo like far cry 2

It may not even have side-quests. The side-quests out of the main game are going to be 2 player co-op I think, and from what i understand there are only 8 "levels". So that might not even be sandbox.

We know there is armor but its a "suit". As can be seen in the pre-order. I don't think there will be individual armor pieces. Which is disappointing.

We know there will be different types of ammo's to play with, but in terms of weapons I don't think there are going to be different types of the same weapon, as in, your assault rifle is most likely going to be a ak47 for the entire game, without other assault models such as a M16. Think, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 as your weapon slots, but you aren't getting different kinds of weapons of the same category. At least thats how I understand it.

Now you are saying things that are flat out not true. There will be optional sidequests in the game where you can collect components to build gadgets like turrets, lock grinders etc, and for building some weapons, like the wingsticks. And to build something you have to collect the schematics for it, which mostly can be found during the side-quests as well. That is all in the single-player, and has been mentioned in articles, interviews etc.

You need to start watching the video interviews. What has Tim Willits said? He's said there will be SIDE QUESTS, in SINGLE PLAYER. Lots of them. Well he didn't say lots, but I couldn't imagine them not placing alot, since the whole focus in on single player... that's what makes IdSoftware IdSoftware, and that's great.
