Indeed. Good riddance.
I remember this happening to me a couple times. I'd start a new game, everything would be hunky-dory until half-way through the MQ or after my save got to be 7-8 MB.
It will freeze eventually. Maybe less now that quest errors have been fixed and the like, but I would bet my left foot the game will never be "freeze-free."
I agree it will never be freeze free and I maybe should have mentioned before that my save file is currently pretty low, meaning crashes should be at an all time low. I can completely relate to your anger at this product after I endured the nightmare that was Fallout 3 GOTY PS3.
Though I've read from other posts about people who suffered horrendous lag and freezes with a file of 8MB+ who have downloaded the patch and are experiencing a huge improvement, so this patch has been succesful to some degree and it looks like freezes have been reduced to what is hopefully (for me anyway) a playable level. I'm looking forward to again playing, what truly is if you ignore some of the remaining bugs, a great game.
And another thing, was the game engine actually patched or have they merely used work arounds (e.g. reduced the number of NPCs roaming about in Westside) to improve performance?
